The Kings are just finding ways to stay in the game until they can win.

Congrats Kings!

Devils gotta be scratching their heads.

They had a relentless forecheck that made it very difficult for the Kings to get any breakout with speed out of their zone.

...and yet the Kings win in OT yet again.

Brad Dotty's 200' end to end goal... I guess that's why he makes the big $$$$

Quick and Brodeur putting on a show for the ages.
Quick showing the old guard the new guard.

How is Brodeur so good at 40?
How is Quick so good at 25?

Someone posted Kings deserve to win on another forum.

Devils as*hat fan post and my response.

Lets look objectively at the facts.
Kings are 10-0 on the road, they have won 12 of 14 games played, losing one game each in 2 series and sweeping one, they are up 2-0 on the road in this series going home with the ability to clinch at home.

I'd say thus far they deserve to be in the position they are in having earned it. I'll give you it ain't over till the fat lady sings BUT to this point, THEY DESERVE THE CUP.

Tim Thomas, acting crazy again.

http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=633652

Rumor has it his wife left him took the kids and moved to Colorado. The suspicion is that he was supposed to retire after the cup run last year, he didn't, she's pissed. Not sure how true it is but it makes more sense than a 38 year old goaltender taking a year off from the game. If he does return he'll need a team who wants a 40 year old between the pipes.

No cups for 14 wins. You need 16 to deserve it. I want them to win it but no one deserves it until they win 16 playoff games no matter how dominant they may seem in the beginning.

Hell Vancouver had 15 wins last year. Did they deserve the cup?

That's whats most baffling. He was beloved in this city, and he's decided to pull a Manny Ramirez and pis on everyone's shoes as he leaves town.

They DID...until they decided to play full-retard (i.e. practice cannibalism; mock Thomas; etc. etc.)...

But, the Kings are not retarded or classless divers like the Nucks. I think 2 wins are within within reach for them.

^^^
And when and if they get those 2 wins, they will deserve the cup and have earned the engraving of their names (or reasonable facsimiles) on said cup.

Serious question, so if the Kings win 2 more games, does pancakes get consideration for the Conn Smythe, or do they just overnight the trophy to Gretzky by default?

You gotta admit Moog, Pancakes has had a hand in several key goals along this Kings run. I hate to pull another baseball reference on the same page but he's reminding me of JD Drew in 07. He was the team joke all season long overpaid and underperforming, until that Grand Slam in the ALCS, then he became the hero of the season.

Unless Pancakes pots to more game winners, he won't be Conn Smyth.

Early candidates: Quick, Doughty, Brown, Kopitar.

Methinks Brown is playing injured after the Yotes series.
He just is not the same player he was in the earlier series(s).

Kopitar is just great all around and has a bunch of goals and is
a threat both defensively and offensively.

Doughty is turning it on, playing great D, and getting some offense
as well.

Quick...what more can you say about him.....

Maybe no Smyth, but give the guy some props, his regular season may have had some laughable moments (which he handled with great humor) but he's been a beast for LA when they needed it most.

Word is GAGNE will be in the line-up tonight for LA (replacing Richardson).

Homeslice has not played a game since December when he got his bell rung.

My vote so far for Connie would go to Kopitar...followed by Quick.

And after that, LeBron James.
