Kings played a pretty poor game, but props to them for pulling out the W.
Kings looked a bit rusty with all that time off.
Quite a bit of feeling each other out during the game.
Kings fell into the Devils game from late in the 2nd and pretty much all of the 3rd.
Game 2 should be interesting. Each team knows how the other will play. No more rust.
The Devils will be desperate.

Crazy stats: Kings are 13-2 overall and 9-0 on the road in the playoffs.

I enjoyed the win almost as much as if it were the Rangers.
An as*hat Devils fan on My350Z that was busting balls during the series and then said Ranger fans were whining said the winning goal was the worst OT goal ever.
I returned the ball busting.

The best part of the night was in the press conference.
Dumb reporter: "Anze, why did you decide to go backhand on Brodeur?"
Kopitar: "uhh, I went forehand"

Regardless of the business you're in, you just can't beat a good deal. So when House of Ink, a popular tattoo shop in the Venice area of Los Angeles, suddenly offered 50 percent off ink work, it got some people's attention. But there was a catch, one that area hockey fans definitely didn't have a problem with.
"All Kings tattoos are 50 percent off," said Sean Heirigs, the Kings fan and long-time tattoo artist who opened House of Ink almost 15 years ago. Hockey fan Sean Heirigs, who owns the popular Venice tattoo shop House of Ink, is offering 50 percent off Kings-related tattoos.
The 50 percent Kings promotion is a sizeable discount for any business, but it's nothing compared to what Heirigs will be offering if the Kings wrap up the franchise's first Stanley Cup win.
"Free Stanley Cup tattoos if we win," Heirigs said. "I think there could be a few hundred people lined up out the door [if the Kings win]."

New York Rangers sniper Marian Gaborik will undergo surgery Wednesday to repair a torn labrum in his shoulder, the team said in a news release Friday.
A source close to Gaborik said the surgery for the injury -- suffered in Game 3 or 4 of the first round of the playoffs against Ottawa -- would sideline him for up to six months.

Gaborik will have the procedure at the NYU Langone Medical Center's Hospital for Joint Diseases in Manhattan, the Rangers said. It will be performed by Dr. Andrew Feldman and Dr. Anthony Maddalo.
The 30-year-old forward was criticized for his inconsistent production throughout the playoffs.
He was limited to one goal in the team's conference final series against the New Jersey Devils after recording 41 goals and 35 assists during the regular season.
"I don't want to make excuses but it was there," Gaborik said on a conference call with reporters. "I would say (the injury) affected me."
"It's frustrating. It is what it is," Gaborik added. "I just have to focus on getting back healthy and being ready to go.
"I know I could've played better. I don't think it affected me that much. It was just weak. During the game, the adrenaline kicks in and everything goes to the side. Shooting, my shot wasn't there, obviously, but I don't want to make excuses. I tried to put it aside and focus on playing. It wasn't just me -- a lot of guys were banged up. You just try not to think about it and go out there and do your best."
