goalie despite somewhat higher numbers?I did not watch the game as I was on a flight but did catch the highlights on www.nhl.com. All 3 goals Crawford let in yesterday were because of poor play in front of him. How can he stop a deflection or a rebound goal where if there was adequate play, it would not have gone in?
After the 1st, the numbers show Chicago turned it up a notch and reduced Toronto's shots on goal as well as possession in their territory. Emery getting the call was a wake-up call that worked.
Anyhow, whatever...if you are that obsessed with proving me wrong, so be it. I stand by what I'm saying and at least cannot be accused of being contradictory.

And I could care less about Corey Crawford honestly. My favorite Hawks players are known by you guys (i.e. Toews; and no, not Kane). But, I'm just trying to be objective in pointing out that Crawford is not as terrible as his numbers. That is all.

domcha, you should bring back the brown bag. Your team was winning earlier in the season when you were still sporting it. Instead of booing Burke/Wilson or the teams effort, think I may have discovered what's got your teams poor mojo. Leaves need to change their yoga instructor.

I don't think me or Moog suggested they could have had a top tier goalie at the deadline, obviously there wasn't much available. But, its a simple point really, if Chicago or Toronto for that matter had better goalies, they would be a better team with a better record than what they have today. Even if the team and its play didn't change one bit. Not sure how you can disagree with that? Crawford isn't getting the job done, end of story.
What is debatable is whether they can win the Cup with Crawford.....I guess they can IF the team play improves immensely. But again, a better goalie makes it easier on everyone. That point cannot be argued, sorry.

Coming from a Flames fan, if it wasnt for Kipper we would be an AHL team.
I think our GM Jay Feaster responded last week (After the 6-1 pounding from the Oilers) to everyone saying that the Flames should blow up the team for more youth was......."Well if we get rid of Kipper we will be worse than 30th.....and there are only 30 teams in the league".
