I didn't get to play on the outdoor rinks at all this year... No time and everyone prefers playing at arenas now.

An elbow to the head, is an elbow to the head, is an elbow to the head. The league has had plenty of blatent hits to the head lately that they could show that they want to eliminate but they choose not to do it. All I'm saying, if you want to get rid of hits to the head, or show that they're not tolerated, they let several guys walk after blatent hits to the head. The biases are clear and ridiculous

Hey black label: Just read Al Cimaglia's blog (he's quite reliable for information IMO)...the "chirping" incident with Thornton is not all black and white.

Apparently, the Hawks bench was quite angry at his supposed knee/leg on Hjalmarsson earlier. So, Thornton is not all innocent in this...The chirper is allegedly, Mr. Kane. So, at least we all know who it is...and honestly, I'm not that surprised since he is a yapper too. However, we don't know if Kane knew Thornton got cut and etc. etc.

So, whatever...trashtalking happens in hockey.

He knew he was cut, the blood loss was obvious. Thrash talking does happen in hockey but their is a time and place for it. I love trash talk but when I guy has a large piece of his face flapping in the breeze it's not the time to do it. I'm sure blackack would agree (based on how he feels about the Islanders incident).

Thorny does owe him something though. With one exception (involving Mr Cooke) I've never seen Thornton hit a guy who was down or had his sweater pulled over his head. I think Kane may have just put himself into the Cooke category in Thorntons data base.

Thornton was also running Chicago's smaller players all game and even challenged Pisani (really?!?? Pisani?!??) to a fight. So, I dunno...I think he was under a few players' skin.

Whatever...I'm not too keen that Kane (or whoever) said something cute when Thornton's face was cut open. But, it's part of the game...and I'm sure worse things have been said between players.

Not really...I usually keep the same one for at least a couple of weeks but some peeps have taken it upon themselves to constantly change it (like today)...

Well, at the present pace...Chicago will go up against the Canuckleheads. This will be an amusing series to say the least...I actually hope Chicago gets the #8 seed now.

A series against the Pink Things at 7 would also be kick@$$. If anything, super entertaining...I have absolutely no idea how well Chicago will do this year if they get into the Spring Hockey dance. When they are on, they can take on anyone...when they are off, well, hello shut-out against Boston.

Fixed.

Speaking of hoping and wishing, would love to see the Flames make the postseason instead of the Ducks: most annoying team in the NHL.

Doubt it. Stick a fork in Calgary...I think they are finished.

I think this is a historical first? All the Cali teams in the playoff dance...?

Pretty good game between the B's and Leafs last night. That's one rivalry I wouldn't mind seeing escalated.

All any team has to do to beat the Flyers is take us to the SO. We stink in them. I'm glad they don't use it during the playoffs or we'd be dead ducks. That being said, I hope we can get some positive momentum during these last 3 regular season games or we won't get out of the first round.

The question should be, how do the Rangers beat the second place team and get two points, yet the team that lost becomes the first place team, when the first place team didn't play that day???

1 point for overtime loss. Tie breaker to said second place team.

Are there any specific rules in hockey that forbid you from fitting your goaltender with a choke collar and a 6 foot chain to the crossbar? I like Tim Thomas and all, the guy's 2nd all time in save percentage but he's gotta learn to stick around the friggin net.

Is it that or because shoot out wins don't don't count when it comes to ties in the standings this year?

Wow...just looked at the remaining schedule for Dallas.

Not overlooking their opponents but if they take care of their own business, they are still very much in the playoff race.
