N.H.L. Math Often Equals Points for All

common sense? If Burke wasn't so opposed to this 'poor idea', his Leafs would still be playing...

The N.H.L. is the only elite-level professional hockey league in the world that awards 2 points for regulation, overtime and shootout victories. An overtime or shootout loser gets 1 point. In the rest of the world, a regulation winner gets 3 points, an overtime or shootout winner 2, and an overtime or shootout loser 1. A regulation loser gets no points.

N.H.L. executives have repeatedly voted down proposals to go to a 3-2-1-0 system, and Toronto General Manager Brian Burke, a defender of the current system, has said making all games worth 3 points is “a poor idea.....”

As much as it pains me to say this, Hawks probably have the best chance of knocking off the Canucks before they gain a full head of steam. Besides I can't root for any team with Raffi Torres.

BTW, Raffi spitting image of whiskers - coincidence?

Very, VERY cool experience.

It makes far too much sense. Which is why we'll never see it happen in the NHL.

And I still don't think the Leafs would have made it.

I have a pic of Mr. T posing for a shot for me. I post it when I have a chance to upload my pics from the camera.

Sadly, nothing of Al Secord...I was just jaw-dropping since well, he was one of my fave Hawk players as a kid growing up.

And I did really consider buying a signed Stanley Cup puck from Toews at one of the sports stores near our hotel...but, ultimately...$210 for a puck. Yeah...no.

Stars fire Crawford

Crawford has now definitively proven that the success in Colorado was due to players and not coaching.

Yep. I even watched the "lottery" which has gone from seeing it live and them pick out the lottery balls to cards being handed to them with the results after it was already picked in NY.

I'm just confused about you being myopic....never pegged you for it.

One 7 game series and the old men of Detroit will be out of gas.

...and yes....the Kings were one illegal curved stick away from the promised land.

Hey, I was myopic to think Chicago could win with no-name goalies last season.

I'm now myopic thinking Chicago has a chance against the Prez Trophy Nucks.

Just keep in mind, I don't believe Chicago can win it this year. So, that's not myopic.

Just. Bring it.

But...your team does look very deep. That defense is finally healthy and it's pretty darn good, if you ask me...

Let's see if Louuuuuuuu can deal with the pressure of all of Canada. He doesn't have a Team Canada roster with Toews, Crosby, Getzlaf, Iginla, et al to win him something...

We don't have Malhotra which kinda sucks. But we do have Schneider this year incase Bobby has a bad night...

But then again, this is not the same Hawks team as last year

True...good backup.

And that this is not the same Hawks that beat the Nucks the last 2 years in the playoffs...that being said, this undermanned team did score a TD on you guys in Vancity earlier in the year.

I recall AV was whining that the Hawks "ran up" the score.
