Sadly I am a pirates fan, and I've made comparisons to them in the past, but maybe 1 day, Pittsburgh a real pro baseball team, and Toronto will have a pro something team

^ Yeah, LA now gets to beat up on weak teams for a few games. So, your Stars better maintain pace!

CANADIENS RELIEVE GAUTHIER OF GENERAL MANAGER DUTIES
Pierre Gauthier's tenure as general manager of the Montreal Canadiens is over.
Canadiens owner and team president Geoff Molson has called a news conference for Thursday at 11:45am et to formally announce that the club has relieved him of his duties.
You can watch it live on TSN and TSN.ca.
The Canadiens are last in the Eastern Conference with a 29-34-14 record and were eliminated from playoff contention on Saturday.
The club says in a release "the search for a new general manager is underway."
Gauthier was promoted to the role of executive vice president and GM in February 2010 after Bob Gainey stepped down.
In his first full season as GM, Gauthier's Canadiens finished sixth in the East and made the playoffs but were eliminated in seven games by the eventual Stanley Cup champion Boston Bruins in the first round.
The team took a step back this year, stumbling out of the gate and losing their first three games on home ice for the first time since 1938.
Montreal continued to struggle through the early portion of the season and head coach Jacques Martin was eventually fired in mid-December.
Randy Cunneyworth was appointed as interim head coach by Gauthier in a move that caused a stir in the Montreal media due to Cunneyworth's inability to speak French. The coaching change also failed to spark the team on the ice as the Canadiens continued to struggle under Cunneyworth.
Gauthier originally joined the Canadiens organization as Director of Professional Scouting in 2003.

I'd like an Easton Mako...but it's not as if that stick is going to magically change my game.
I always at the guys in the locker room who come in with new gear all the time....think it's gonna change their game......and they still suck.
One's game is not at the point to where better gear is going to make a difference.
I highly doubt a $300.00 stick is going to noticeably change a beer leaguers game versus a $100 stick

Dallas plays SJ twice in the final 5 games which could be a huge deciding factor for both teams.

I'd be -ing if the Sharks don't make the post-season.

What really pisses me off is when you snap it going into the corner to get the puck and the rink has cheap @ss boards with gaps and your stick gets caught...nearly spears you....and then snaps the blade right off

I get pissed when I break a $60-$70 stick...let alone the more expensive ones.

But, if the Sharks make it, they are drawing either the Cansucks or Fools. And well, both are tough match-ups.

Yummy, what's the deal with this Bollig kid? Can he play? If so, he seems like a nice upgrade from John Scott. Probably not as dangerous as Scott in a fight but still seems like a legit tough guy in this league and if he's less of a defensive liability and can play a more regular shift he's a nice call up.

Of the 3, Shaw is the sparkplug and will score a goal anyway possible including off his face. And despite his size, will fight, hit, and draw penalties. Awesome find by the Hawks.
Bollig is what made Scott expendable. Where Scott was a liability in his own end and had huge mobility issues, Bollig has neither of those and is a solid 4th liner who will hit, skate, and laugh at his opponent as he's fighting...he apparently loves it.
But, as in all rookies, I won't get too hyped until they see more action and what happens in the playoffs.
I'm just happy that Chicago's making steps again to not be a harder team to play against again instead of the all-finesse squad last season and earlier this year.

And oh, all three suck compared to the awesomeness of this year's Hart and Calder candidate: Halava Royfov of the Kings.
The sizzle in the Steak
Not so much. Kings fans at best think there is a slight rivalry.
Guppies fans hate LA because they wished they lived in SoCal.
However we do hate the sucks, and think they are a joke.

Ahh, the costs of Hockey. I was watching a video where Dennis Seidenberg was talking about his skates (he wears a different style of blade than most NHL'ers). He said he gets a new pair about every 10-14 games, basically right when they're broken in he replaces them. This was mostly because of his shot blocking tendencies, taking one off the foot apparently hurts much less with a new skate than a broken in one.
My feet would be screaming for mercy trying to break in new skates every month or so.
