I wonder how Eklund makes up his scoops, does he like toss names and teams into hats and just draws out names and teams randomly?

"Oh here's Crosby. Okay...let's draw out of the team hat...okay, cool! Florida! Crosby to the Panthers!"

This is the Leafs we're talking about. Not only will they get him. They'll trade big Scheen, Kadri and a 2nd rounder to get him and then promptly sign him to a 4 year 16 million dollar extension.

Would it be embarrassing if they can't beat or at least match the 104K that saw the college teams play there last year?

How relevant is hockey in that part of the US?

I know the Red Wings had issues with selling out before...even when they were really good.

If they can pack in 104K for college hockey they better be able to do the same for the NHL....

He doesn't get the BIG HOUSE dough, the $3 million goes to the university. Not sure how gate revenue gets split, but its cool that they are making a week long festival out of it downtown. College games, OHL games, Griffins/Marlies -- and don't even get me started about the alumni game, they will have to draw straws for all the guys who want to play.

This stat is for blackackalacka (all time wins between teams):

Toronto wins 276
Detroit wins 275

Radio guys were going over a list of guys who played on both teams and where they should be placed for the alumni game. Impressive list. All I know is Wendel Clark in a Leaf

And some talk from Marty Howe mentioning his dad should take a shift or two at that game

Those two are a given yes but what I meant was, guys who played for the Meh Things and Leafs during their careers. Cujo, Wendel Clark, Larry Murphy, Brad Marsh , Red Kelly, Bob Rouse and a bunch more that I'm forgetting.

Gordie should not take the ice.

Leave the guy alone.

We don't need another "Dick Clark" scenario......let's remember the great years, not the old damaged men.

Sorry, but now you know how I feel when you talk about the Kings.

I thought they only had one player, The Doughty.

He's still in a good frame of mind. I could only imagine the reaction from him taking the ice.

Sure he'll be there in some capacity regardless.

His mind is still there...but sadly slipping.

His physical ability is what's in question.

I don't want to see Gordie look like a clown out there.

Leave the poor guy alone.

Check back with me in about ten-fifteen years, but I don't think Drew will be a Kings alum.

Were you reading Matthew Barry's rant on Hockeybuzz.com?

Personally, I think that's not a good idea. Doughty has slowed down a bit but he is still a franchise player a la Quick and Kopitar to build a team around.

^^ Dancing Boy is a bit of a clown....I rarely read his nonsense.

I liked this from another forum:

Kings Things to Do.

Realize we aren’t going to win the cup this year. Check.
Promote two forwards from Manchester. Check.
Trade Penner to the Leafs for a 2nd round pick.
Trade Stoll for a 2nd round pick.
Resign Mitchell to a multi-year deal.
Trade Scuderi to Phi or Chi for a 1st round pick.
Ride out the season. (nothing new here)
Resign Quick. (hope and pray he resigns)

Sign a UFA winger. (good luck)
Trade picks/bernier for a winger.
Draft a winger.

Enjoy another rebuild.

44 years, and counting….

Pancakes will be rocking the 4th line at the next game.

Some takes:
Penner on the 4th line. That’s funny. It’s not even a demotion because he makes that line worse.

Penner is on the 4th line because there isn’t a 5th line…
