The sizzle in the Steak
^^ No, he plays for himself.

There are 861 people who play in the NHL. Ovi is ranked #1 in goals, he is ranked #861 in plus minus. He is the textbook definition of a 1 dimensional player.

He's the best cherry picker in the league, 1 dimension is right

@-36?? that's a pretty hefty accomplishment. -36 is bad, yes, but when you factor in the 48 goals and 24 assists, it's embarrassingly bad. Wow.

-36 is how cold it gets over here.

There are exceptions, but what's the deal with loafing/diva-like Russian players? So, Ovie, Semin, Kovalev, Radulov, Kostitsyn...those are the ones that come to mind.
Sure, you have ones like Datsyuk who are the exception...but, more often than not, most always end up in the coachs' doghouse.

Really, every country has a bit of a reputation or a type of player they are known for. Russia has a long line of one dimensional sharp shooters. Finland is a goaltending factory. Canada is he number one supplier of hockey goons. Sweden produces excellent 2 way forwards. Germany is known for their strong defense first defensemen.

I can only assume the refs want Boston to win the presidents trophy. Or they're from Finlandia.

That ones classier, I'd use that one for washing mud off my jeep.
Put the players names on the Stanley Cup, everything else is failure. Division Champ, Conference Champ, Presidents Trophy, none of them mean a damn thing come next year. No one will care, no one will remember. Get your name on the cup and you succeeded.

Bernier left a 4-3 win against the Boston Bruins on Thursday in the third period with a lower-body injury after a collision with Bruins forward Patrice Bergeron.

Looks like Brad Doty's "upper body injury" may not be that bad, as he is going to travel with the team to Vancouver.

Bergeron is a class act and could have embellished it like a many teams do. Had he embellished, Bernier would be in much worse shape. He's lucky they weren't playing the pengoons who would have gone for maximum damage instead of trying to just play hockey.

I don't put any stake in power rankings yet I read them anyway. This made me
Here's the entire write up for why Detroit is ranked where they are.
