It's not even like how the Leaves manage...at least in their setup, there are situations where the shot is from the perimeter and so, the goalie can see it all the way.

With Edmonton, the D is an imitation of the parting of the Red Sea.

Yes, because winning a gold medal is more important to most of these guys, especially if you play for a shitty NHL team, this is your only shot to win something, so you will go all out even if it's a teammate in the NHL. Not saying pens are shitty, but you can throw in any names there not just orpik.
like, Grabner would take a run at Tavares, for example.

He just called out his Pengoons as being a goon squad for the Oly!!!

...and just because you say they are a goon squad, and then follow it up with "no, not really"....you still ended up saying they are a goon squad.

Nicely done

In all seriousness, I want some tough, physically played games. But, please...no goonery. No place for that in the NHL or on the international stage.

Heck, even if there is a fight...for legit reasons? Fine. But, no slewfooting, kneeing, head-shots.

Play for the country honorably and may the best nation win.

Oh snap...learned something new today. There is zero dropping of the gloves? I mean, what happens if you do? 1 game suspension? Game misconduct?

Players fighting in international or Olympic hockey receive a match penalty and are ejected from the game.

Actually there a couple of places in the NHL for goonery: Pittsburgh & Vancouver.

You know, given the size of AZ's membership, it really is too bad we don't have more hockey fans that post in here. You'd think there would be more.

This thread has really been losing people rather than gaining. fdl, wstevens, Jonesi, jupes, are just some I can think of...Even the Cansucks fans don't post in here no more. WTF.

It shows that expansion doesn't work. We essentially represent 5 of the original 6 LA and the Pengoons. The only way Hockey comes into non traditional markets is Gretzky or Crosby.

yummy cakes and domcha have been slacking as value creators and shareholders in A'zine.

The mods need to get the sub-forum up and running so we can get some rabid Habs fans up in here.

Could there be a more perfect synergy of douchebagery? The Canucks and Torts were made for each other. They should go for the trifecta and add Alfredson.

Learned a new rule today. Apparently if your stick breaks and you throw it into the crowd, it's a 10 minute misconduct.

Torts is an idiot. He has reacted this way before too in the past by sending out his goon line...

The way you counter is to send out a skilled line and try to score.

Yup. Me too. Same as the unreviewable aspect of the goal against Quick.

Uneven game (mistakes by both teams) but still, entertaining. A bit of everything. And gotta love it when Bollig scores.

Judging by his confused look, I think we can add Toews to the list as well.

Man, Marchand is one player I love to hate. Gahhh...But, I'm sure you think the same of Shaw. Still, Marchand just seems worse.

From seeing behind the scenes footage of the teams pregame 2 touch soccer matches, he runs his mouth so much even his line mates want to close it with their fists.
