Coyotes Announce Team Name Will Change to Arizona Coyotes Beginning in 2014-15
Wednesday, 01.29.2014 / 12:17 PM / News
Phoenix Coyotes
GLENDALE, ARIZONA --- Phoenix Coyotes Co-Owner, President and CEO Anthony LeBlanc announced today that the Phoenix Coyotes will officially change their franchise name to the Arizona Coyotes beginning at the start of the 2014-15 NHL season.
“We are very excited to announce that our franchise name will change to Arizona Coyotes for the start of the 2014-15 NHL season,” said LeBlanc. “Becoming the Arizona Coyotes makes sense for us since we play our games in Glendale and the city is such a great partner of ours. We also want to be recognized as not just the hockey team for Glendale or Phoenix, but the team for the entire state of Arizona and the Southwest. We hope that the name ‘Arizona’ will encourage more fans from all over the state, not just the valley, to embrace and support our team.”
As part of the name change, the Coyotes will be introducing a new shoulder patch for their home and road jerseys in 2014-15. The patch will be unveiled for the Coyotes first preseason game next season. The rest of the Coyotes uniform will not change.
The franchise has been known as the Phoenix Coyotes since it moved to the Valley from Winnipeg in 1996. The Coyotes played their home games in downtown Phoenix from 1996 until 2003 when they moved to their current home, Jobing.com Arena, in Glendale.

So I need some advice from you real hockey fans.
need not apply.
If I understand the game correctly, the strategy of the game is to score more "goals" than the opposing team. The team with the most "goals" at the end of the game wins the contest.
Is this correct?
If so, please help me with my confusion:
What exactly is a "goal"?
Is it posting a ton more shots than the opposing team?
Is it hitting goal posts and crossbars?
Is it having the most hits per game?
Please define for me here, and then forward your definition to:

fun atmosphere at the game tonight. the commute was crazy on the subways. I'd say 60-40 split rangers fans way for the stadium tonight. saw a brawl at mcdonalds after the game, this guy with a dipietro jersey was getting heckled then started fighting with a rangers fan and then all their buddies jumped in til the cops broke it up.

Sadly this is somewhat true, most bandwagoners didn't show up until the 08 Stanley Cup run, then all the sudden everyone loved the Pens and knew everything about hockey. We already had our season tickets for 10 years at that point, so it really did piss me off quite a bit. I sat through a lot of bad years of hockey to get those draft picks dammit
I went to games where the attendance was anywhere from 2000-5000 fans a night.
Same thing happened with the Pirates this year, they finally go to the playoffs after 20 years of baseball, and all the sudden the whole city knows everything about baseball. Happens in most markets I'm afraid. Given your city's history and lack of knowledge on the Sacramento Kings making the cup run, you really have no room to talk though

That's 5 more goals than the Kings have scored in the past 3 games.
Bruins are an offensive juggernaut by comparison.
Cry me a river
...again, what is this "goal" you speak of?
It's a rare occurrence indeed....comparative to a Blue Moon perhaps?

They should institute 1/2 goals for the Kings. Put up one of those boards like they do at the intermission where a lucky fan gets to win a car or something and try to have Jeff Carter put it through.
They probably still couldn't score.

Shocked Kevin Lowe is still employed. He must have pictures of Darryl Katz doing something to somebody.
Word on the street is he's behind most of the calls still and his name was on much of the draft picks over the years and signings. So, no idea why Katz is keeping him around.
All right, Pengoons fans....I'm feeling the Kings are gonna have an offensive EXPLOSION tonight!
Be prepared!!!!!!
Kings are gonna throw down 1 goal, or dare I say, even 2!!!!
Take that!!! Beware the offensive juggernaut coming your way!
