Dallas Stars Debut New Mascot!
Dallas - The Dallas Stars unveiled their new team mascot at a media breakfast on Friday, marking for the first time that the hockey club has been represented by a grown man wearing a fluffy costume.
"We wanted something that represented everything that the Stars are. Something big and slow and purple with a Stars logo on its chest ." said Stars president and current muckity-muck, James R. Lites. "So without further delay, I present to you, Rebuildy The Bear!"
The brainchild of the same marketing team that made household words of the phrases "hella", "sick", and "epic"; Rebuildy the Bear is the latest attempt to lure fans back into the seats. "Kids will like it, because it's a bear, and teenagers and Gen-X'ers will like it because it's cool." said Lites.
"And it gives us a chance to remind the fans that we are rebuilding, and since the word 'rebuilding' has such a negative connotation, we figured what better way to soften the blow than with a big fluffy bear."

Kings had rebuildy the bear back in 2006, now it's time for Dallas.
I "catered" the press release for Dallas.

Hey Statler, tell your birdies to bring their "A" game on Saturday, and do the Kings a favor by beating the Blues.
A Kings V Sharks rematch from 2 years ago would be awesome!
Kings playing the Blues...

Hah...we'll be lucky if Coach Q starts half the team. I'm guessing a skeleton crew plays against the Boos.
More proof the Leafs are gonna win The Cup

You just let me know when you need the Kings to the bed again, I'm sure I can deliver for you.
You might not get your wish though, The Quacks are a good opening round possibility even though I loathe the 10:30pm EST starts. Don't want to get too greedy though, gotta win or at least grab a point first.

Sources: Joe Nieuwendyk out as GM
The Dallas Stars will replace Joe Nieuwendyk as general manager with Detroit assistant GM Jim Nill, two sources confirmed to ESPN.com Saturday night.
TSN earlier reported the move just before the Stars hosted Nill's Red Wings to wrap up their regular season. It wasn't clear when the official announcement would come.
The Stars missed the playoffs this season for a fifth consecutive year. Nieuwendyk, a Hockey Hall of Fame player inductee, was named the Stars GM in May 2009.
Nill has been one of the NHL's most respected assistant GMs for a long time. He's spent 15 years as the assistant GM in Detroit and 19 years overall with the front office.

A thank you to Hockeytown my be in order, Detroit being the cradle of coaches and GM's.
Speaking of the cradle, all the more impressive that the Wings have extended the streak sporting half of an AHL team and a guy who was playing collegiate hockey a month ago.
Looks like Holland has once again proved his genius and substantiated the domcha seal of approval.

Meh, if Shanaban was secretly evil plotting Red Wings domination, he would have swung the hammer down on Shea Weber during last year's first round.
How a dirty play, hit to the head and cracked helmet doesn't merit at least a one game suspension...

Kinda makes me wonder how Chicago even lost 7 games. I hope those teams who did NOT comply to the memo get NO LOTTO picks forever...!
Wait...are the Avs in the running for a lotto pick?!??
