Well, considering that your Kings are a hard-hitting team that likes to play physical...you better keep your fingers crossed that the Pens don't take it the wrong way and start employing muay thai in their playbook.
Trolling Canuckistan
I'd be more worried about Matt Cooke2.0 AKA James Kneel than Malkin.

You might argue that the best player, other than Kopitar, in the league, is Crosby.

Now the Leaves have gone and pissed off Riddick Bowe who for some strange reason is a Leaf fan
Former heavyweight boxing champion Riddick Bowe isn’t happy with the Toronto Maple Leafs and their recent struggles. Yes, you heard that correctly.
Bowe is a native of Brooklyn, N.Y., but has been a diehard Leafs fan for decades and on Thursday he called out Leafs coach Randy Carlyle on Twitter.
If you visit Bowe’s Twitter page, which features a Maple Leafs logo in the background, you’ll soon come to realize the passionate pugilist, who owns a home in Toronto, spends much of his tweeting about the team. He even frequently uses the hashtag #BoweLeafsBowe.
Like most Leafs fans, Bowe isn’t afraid to share his opinions about the team. According to his timeline, he is a big fan of Phil Kessel and says the team needs to cut captain Dion Phaneuf.
The Leafs are in a tight battle for the final two playoff spots in the East and must go on a hot streak in their remaining eight games if they wish to qualify for the post-season for a second straight year. A loss to the St. Louis Blues earlier this week didn’t help the Leafs’ cause… and it really upset Bowe.
The 46-year-old retired from pro boxing in 2008 with a record of 43-1, 1 NC. Bowe held the WBC, WBA and IBF heavyweight titles during his career and had two wins over Evander Holyfield.
The Leafs will look to avoid a seventh consecutive loss as they visit the Philadelphia Flyers Friday on Sportsnet Ontario with coverage starting at 7 p.m.

Like the Highlander there can only be one "goons"...and the Pengoons are it.
Please, Hammer...Don't hurt 'em.
If the Kings can get away from the Pengoons without a slewfoot, concussion, knee on knee hit, knee to head hit, elbow to the head......then I will be very happy with whatever outcome is on the scoreboard.
You might think I am joking, but I am serious......you outta see some of the comments on some of the Kings message boards about being nervous about tonight's game with the Pengoons...and hoping to escape injury.
Thankfully Malkin won't be playing.
...and thankfully the Kings are putting Jones in net......don't want to risk Quick getting a cheap shot injury.

The sizzle in the Steak
The only cheapshots I saw last night were from Dusty Brown, running around spearing everyone in the gut after the whistle... I don't often complain about the officiating, but it was terrible last night. Doty interferes with his own goalie, crosschecks Sutter 8 times while he scores a goal, and it gets waved off for goalie interference when Sutter never touched the goalie. Great job Toronto, they must have had Rob Ford reviewing that goal.
You Pengoon fans live in a bubble world.
The phantom calls that went the way of the Pengoons were dumbfounding to say the least.
It was almost as if the refs were having trouble denying the goal to the fans on the clear interference of the goaltender. You need your head examined if you think Sutter did not push on Jones.
I now know why the Pengoons have so many PP goals on the year.....the refs hand them EVERYTHING. It's ridiculous. The league looks very bush league when it comes to the Pengoons. When teams come to Pittsburgh, apparently they don't have to just beat the Pengoons, they also have to make sure they are not defeated by the refs.
7 penalties against LA
3 penalties against Pitt......and you complain?!?!?!?!
Delusions of grandeur.
Question: You fans of Eastern Conference teams: Do you see this kind of when your team rolls into Pittsburgh?
It was disturbing.
However it was funny to watch Bylsma do everything in his power in the 1st period to keep Crosby off the ice when Kopitar was on the ice.
Pengoons better get their together or it's one round and out.

PENGUINS FADING
Lest we pretend that the Maple Leafs are the only team having trouble when it comes to advanced metrics, let's look higher up the standings at a Pittsburgh Penguins team that has been on a gradual, but steady, decline since Christmas. While Pittsburgh's record is 19-10-4 in that span, their Fenwick Close has declined from 54% to 50.2%, the kind of dip that reveals cracks beneath the surface of that 19-10-4 record.
It's not as though this is wholly mysterious. The Penguins have endured significant injuries, losing players like James Neal, Pascal Dupuis, Kris Letang and Paul Martin for more than 20 games apiece. It's understandable to have performance fall off for a team missing quality players for large chunks of the season, but there are other issues at play too.
The Penguins' bottom six forwards have been getting destroyed in terms of puck possession and while some of that is a matter of how teams deploy their talent (starting more shifts in the defensive zone makes it harder to generate positive possession stats), the Penguins' player usage chart also shows that their defence is in trouble without Martin and Letang to aid in the puck-moving effort.
Matt Niskanen and rookie Olli Maatta are above break-even and Simon Despres has relatively strong possession stats in the 17 games that he has played this season, but Robert Bortuzzo, Brooks Orpik, Deryk Engelland and Rob Scuderi are all under 47% Corsi and that's a hard way for a team to remain near the top of the standings.
In the Penguins' case, they can out-perform possession numbers, to some degree, because they have rare elite forward talent in Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin, driving the offence. With Malkin out, perhaps for the rest of the regular season, that's putting a heavy load on Crosby's shoulders.
That means the likes of Brandon Sutter, Marcel Goc and perhaps a soon-returning Beau Bennett have to take responsibility for improving the play of Pittsburgh's bottom six forwards.
For much of the season, it appeared to be a two-team race in the Eastern Conference, but it's pretty clear now that the Boston Bruins are ahead of the fading Penguins and now Pittsburgh needs to get healthy and playing better in a hurry if they're not going to be a vulnerable favourite in round one of the playoffs.

I'm sure if the refs could have given out a penalty against the Kings for "breaking and ankle" they would have.
Probably the league called down to the refs on the ice to see if they could do something to give the Pengoons yet another power-play.

Pengoon fans are like the flat earth society
Remember kids: When the ref gives your team 7 power plays...and the other team only 3.....clearly the refs are not in your favor.
....because your team clearly deserved 10-12 power plays.

I just want to say the NHL (as an organization) and their website are completely lame.
The 3 stars of last nights game vs Chicago were...
1)The Boston Fire Department
2)Patrice Bergeron
3)Tuukka Rask
The NHL has it listed as 1) Bergeron 2) Rask. If you want to leave the Fire Department out, don't move everybody up, leave them as 2 and 3 and leave #1 blank.

Detroit, clinging to playoff hopes and places to sleep at night.
http://nesn.com/2014/03/tomas-tatar-...se-complaints/
According to The Detroit News’ Mike Martindale, Tatar, who is subletting Darren Helm’s Detroit apartment, is facing eviction from his condominium complex due to noise complaints. Martindale reports the Main Street Lofts Condominium Association ”has received numerous complaints from neighbors that since late October 2013, excessive noise has been heard from the players’ condominium ‘up to four nights a week’ between the hours of midnight and 4 a.m. including ‘loud music, yelling and banging on the floors and walls.'
According to the lawsuit, Tatar and Helm will need to provide reasons as to why they should not be evicted. Surely, if they can squeak into the playoffs for the 23rd year in a row Motor City will forgive the winger for some hardcore late-night jam sessions.

It's a neat/cool story....ok....but has ZERO to do with hockey.
I think you guys in the East are hung up on the whole cops and firefighters thing.
Out west, we are not as keen on them, as they have been exposed to bilking the system and raping the taxpayer.
...but then again government entities in Kalifornia are all full of corruption on every level.

Well, Fibbycha and Domcha, the B's did you both a favor and kept those pesky capitals from moving past the 80 point mark. And the news just keeps getting better.
I guarantee one of your losing streaks will come to an end tonight.

And why is it our resident Pengoon fans end up arguing with everyone in here. you guys love to pick on the Pens.

@ Leaves...8 losses in a row? WTFBBQ, are they inspired by the Oilers or something?

Naturally, against the Pens, Toews gets taken out of the game by this lovely hit. Orpik leaves his feet and plants a nice headshot.
Looks bad. No Toews, no Cup chance.
THANK-YOU, Pens. You live up to the Pengoon name tremendously.

I mean, not Chicago's fault they sucked in Soldier Field and got plastered.

I'm guessing B52 didn't learn from Thornton's mistake. The trick is go right up to Orpik, beat the ever living fuck out of him (translation, 1 punch) and take your instigator.

Remember though, Orpik doesn't believe in fighting, he feels he should be able to make as many predatory hits as he wants with zero consequences.
