Really? Aside from his dumb move to challenge Calgary to a street-fight, he's been pretty tame.

I would still say the Luongo/Schneider fiasco was Gillis' worst move.

He's the NHL version of Bill Parcells. He can do great things with an underdog team but eventually people get sick of hearing him. The Canucks weren't an underdog team though, they were a good team that underperformed.

Olympia picks general contractor for new $450 million Detroit Red Wings arena

It’s not immediately clear when construction will begin, but Olympia says the arena will be ready for the 2016 NHL hockey season.
http://www.mlive.com/business/detroi..._contract.html

Faster than expected, thought it wasn't going to be ready until 2017.

2016 Hockeytalk meet in Motown. Get ready bishes.

You don't hire a coach like Torts.

ESPECIALLY after his antics in NY.

The dumbest move the Nucks made in quite some time.
He deep sixed the team.

They don't want to deny the fans a full game and they don't want to take a goal away from colombus.

Resetting the clock to 9:00 would result in playing 51 minutes of hockey. 51 minutes is 9 minutes short of a full game. They didn't want to deny the fans a full game which, again, would be at least 60 minutes.

Tampa is going to make the playoffs think year which means Stunna will show up. Maybe he can provide a graph or chart that shows a full hockey game compared to a partial game.

Most likely blackackcha, I think the east is pretty much set but Columbus and Philly may swap spots.

I don't get the Columbus thing, they want them to play a whole 60 mins of a makeup game, but lets Columbus start the game up 1-0. I think they should pick up where the game got called off if they're resuming with a 1-0 score.

Yea.. dunno the exact reasoning why they are playing a full 60 min and Columbus starting with a 1-0 lead.

IMO, it should be a brand new game.. 60 minutes with a 0-0 score

Took a day trip to Canadia, and I ran into Dom

No not really, but the Hockey Hall of Fame had a mobile exhibit come through, so I stopped and checked it out after lunch.

They had some really cool stuff, having never been to the HHOF it was cool to see a lot of these items in person, lots of USA olympic stuff as well. Lots of Pens related stuff as you'd imagine, I'll only post 1, Crosby's Olympic jersey from the golden goal in 2010, his Winter Classic jersey from 2008, one of Sid's Sault St. Marie jerseys, gloves, etc..

Took this one for Yummy and Moog, Johnny T's cup final home jersey, and Drew Doty's helmet from the cup final, along with a number of skates, etc.

And at least 2 of these trophies I know will be coming back to Pittsburgh this year, they had the Hart, Art Ross, and Ted Lindsay awards.

Hart

Art Ross

Ted Lindsay

Was a cool little event, wish I could have stayed longer, but I did get to at least check everything out.

this is what I was fucking saying. It's the same fans, same seats same tickets. makes no sense. they already SAW the first few minutes why do they have to start at 20:00 on the clock??

Hmm...cuz, you'd think any trophy exhibit for the NHL would HAVE to include The Cup. Kinda the star of the show.

PM ...he knows where The Cup is.
