so after some driving yesterday i started to hear a rattle in my exhaust.. thinking it was something completely different.. long story short came home from picking up my wife had a change to hear it more.. its the other exhaust tip losing its weld =( i thought i solved the issue on the other side but i guess not.. both sides have thin welds..so now i get to either buy a new welder to replace the other that was stolen or rent one and redo the welds on the exhaust.....
FYI i will never buy a DC product ever again do to the header exhaust issues

i think more people go for mdx than rdx due to rdx being smaller with very little mpg advantage. also rdx has higher maintenance costs compared to mdx because of turbo charged engine.

also used mdx prices came down a lot recently. i see many '07 and up priced below $30k with decent mileage in craigslist.

Indeed, also the price difference between RDX and MDX new is not enough to keep RDX potential customers from upgrading to the MDX. If you lay it out on a 5 year finance or even a 2 year lease the difference per month is around $75.00 to $100.00 per month or less. So what you get is a glut of MDX's on the market but no RDXs... Doesn't work out so hot for me, but my deal is out there, just have to wait on it.

Meet location I'm not sure yet, no one has really chimed in if they are even interested...

I haven't driven the RDX, but I had an MDX for a few days while I had my tranny replaced () and the MDX is far from being huge IMO. Then again, I've owned a 4runner and an LX450 and the MDX was in the middle size-wise. It handled much better than either of the two Toyotas I've owned (SH-AWD FTW!), and had pretty good power and gas mileage.

if anyone come across used nissan gt-r oem 20" wheels, please let me know.
they are forged and weight only about 25lbs each. and good thing is they look
very similar to fx's oem 20" so my girlfriend wouldn't notice the change

GTR's 20x9.5 Front (approx 25lbs)

FX's 20x8 (more than 40lbs each)

nah.. i'll say they are brake dusts. but she won't notice much difference if the design is similar and number of spokes are same.

btw... exhaust was put on little while ago. its one of the quietest catback i tried and heard in my life. during idle, its really quiet almost close to stock. only time it really gets loud is between 2,000~3,000rpm. in that rpm range, loud hum resonates inside the cabin that can be annoying once a while. other than that great system for the price. great build quality too.

Hey guys,
I'm about to get some springs for my TL. The H&R sport springs is what I'm going to get. Unfortunately I don't have the know-how or proper tools to do this myself. I called Forged Performance in Troutdale close to where I live and they want about $350 for roughly four hours of work. I thought that was kind of steep for the pricing and time for just a spring install.
Do you guys know of any other good shops around Portland I could get this done for?
THANKS

Speed Concept [(503)356-2222] in Aloha.

They have done just about all the work on my TL as well as Min's TL.
Let them know either Kyle or Min sent you. They should be able to beat that price, and they have done suspension work many times on TLs, so they know what they are doing.

$350 for spring install?
Speed Concept will charge about half of that price tag. Worth the drive to Aloha.

---------------

I've been taking out FX35 every night just to let the exhaust settle..
Everything about this exhaust is good except its really annoying at 2250rpm. When the tech approaches 2000rpm, exhaust starts to yell and it peaks at 2250rpm exactly.. Its high pitched loud hum and my ear hurts after a while.

worse then the TL with the deletes?

did the exhaust come with silencers? i would think the v6 plus that exhaust would sound nice and throaty.. ive heard a few G35s with catbacks and i love the way they sound.. i think one had a greddy and the other had HKS

Yea, i use to charge 70 bucks to install springs back in the day but i dont have time anymore. Anyhow, i had both the ultimates and hps on my rsx and both are good street pads. The ultimates have better bite ands takes a few stops to get up to temp but once they are, its like a night and day difference from stock. The HPS is a great street pad as it doesnt dust much and stopping power is pretty close to that of the ultimates but doesnt bite as hard. Gentle on the rotors too vs the ultimates. I would recommend the HPS pads to anyone on a DD as washing the wheels every few days with the axxis ultimates was rediculous.

not even close to being loud like tl. this thing is the quietest catback i ever purchased but its the 2250rpm point that gets really loud enough to hurt my ear drums. i think this resonace is louder due to being a suv (no trunk, open compartment) and the resonance being amplified.

also funny thing about this fx forum members...
1. i created a thread regarding invidia gemini being any louder than stock system and ALL said this system isn't that loud.
2. after purchasing the system, one member pointed out that it drones little around 1700~3000rpm.. wow.. thanx.. i already purchsed it..
3. exhaust comes, and installed.. its loud from 2~3k rpm and informed them about it.
4. all of them that said invidia wasn't loud commited that they dynamatted the car.. wow again..

Does anyone have any local hookups on oem quality paintjobs?

I know this might not sound totally reasonable, but was looking at doing my own paintstripping and bodywork, and possibly even buy the flamenco black pearl paint and clear myself (possibly adding some gold flake) and hire someone to do the spraying in the booth. Looking to spend 1.5k or less. I know there's a maaco in clackamas and downtown portland, but trying to steer clear of the big M. Mom and pop shops are totally welcomed as long as they have good reps and examples of work. Hell, even someone doing it out of his garage is cool with me as long as he's got the right tools to do a quality job.

Thanks in advance

sounds like you need to find a better forum lol

Exhaust is so personal though, what may be annoying to some is perfect to others. Min, you have low tolerance lol

i do depends on what car it is
on my 240sx, i don't care how loud it is. and they are 3" all the way without single resonaor and straight through muffler. but its little different with the fx.

thing is that all the fx guys' been saying its quiet "after" they got dynamat done..

you can find places that will rent out paint booths... you can get a decent spray gun for cheap at harbor freight.. they are good for atleast 4 or 5 paintings before you might run into an issue.. but if you keep it clean they may last longer.. all you have to worry about is mixing the paint.. thats the hard part.. you gotta make sure your hardener and other stuff are added correctly or youll run into issues.. but anywho start calling a few places and see about renting out a booth.. they might even mentor you on what to do as well..

already got a roll of raammat coming

also just removed the trunk cover and took the spare out to see how much factory dampening is in there and found out the reason why fx weight about 600lbs less than the competitors. its just bare sheet metal with no damping right above the muffler. when i knock it, knocking resonates that area really bad. worst i've seen so far. even worse than 240sx i think..
