I just built it two weeks ago and thought I was getting 2x2GB sticks, but instead got 2x1GB sticks. The board and the OS can support up to 16GB RAM. I don't need any LEDs or crap like that since the case does not have any Windows in it. Is that $80-90 per stick, or for both?

And are you interested in the 2x1GB sticks? They are Kingston.

That price would be for both. As for your ram - I really don't need it, but I'm a pack rat and would be willing to take them off your hands for the right price.

I can buy 1G kingston (economy, no heatsink) sticks new for $20 - whatcha looking to get for them?

As for your replacements - I would recommend the same RAM that I have (except I'm running 1000 instead of the 800) - but it would be G.Skill with a blue/purple heatsink on it. It's pretty, and it does the trick. I don't get into O/C'ing, but it would do the trick if I needed it to.

Otherwise I would also go with OCZ or Corsair. They all are running about the same price (looking in the high performance RAM)

ooh.. for $549 I could get you 4 gigs of ram - BUT - it would come with a cooling fan for it too. If you ask me, that makes it a $450 fan.

It sounds like $40 would be the max I could expect to get. So, it would be $20 out of pocket with my RAM?

It depends on what your looking for I guess. I'll give you the new price of $40 for your ram, and here are the three options that would work the best:

74.99 - AllComponents (valueram) - <list 99.99> save $25

64.99 - OCz Gold edition - <List 99.99, but there is a 30.00 MIR) save $35

84.99 - G.Skill (same stuff I have, except 800mhz) - <list 119.99> save $35

I would personally do the last one (the G.Skill) - there's no messing around with the rebate, and the price is pretty decent. Especially seeing there are really no incentives on the generic RAM, but it appears the name-brand established stuff is being marked down like crazy now.

Ok, so $45 then? The RAM I have is about as new as it gets. I might still have the packaging from when I purchased it, if the wife didn't throw it away...

Coon Rapids and Blaine are 2 different cities - but that's OK. Minor details.

Just out of curiosity - who is throwing this meet? Are they part of a club or something on another site? Just wondering where all of these "people" are coming from, or who is puting the meet together.

Sorry if I ask a lot of questions. I'm just curious if there are more Acura people out there that I should keep my ears open for.

How do you keep getting the Type S?

I am supposed to help a friend move some furniture so that he can have his place painted, but once I am done with that, I might be interested in bringing my dirty-ass Acura out. That said, I am with Glow, what's the dillio with this meet?

Check out the website for Nexus Information Systems. That's the company I work for. Definately can do better for ya.

Check it out, and maybe throw together a resume and submit online (if you can) - otherwise I could grab an app for ya if you wanted.

Our main office is located in Minnetonka (right off 62 + 169).

I'm thinking about it. Gotta eat dinner with the wife first though. I'd kind of like to know a little more about this meet though. If it's like some of the other meets I've seen around here that pop up in parking lots - it's probably a bunch of different euro-style cars.

I guess it's kind of up in the air for now though. If some of you are going - than i could probably at least meet up with you and figure out whether we're gonna stay, or if we just want to leave and head to BW3's or Fridays or something.

Kind of cool - apparently this group gets together every week. Nothing special, but this site seems to be much more localized where everyone can just drive down the street and hang out.

The unfortunate part..... I tried to register, and here is what I got instead of my confirmation e-mail to activate my account:

You have been banned for the following reason:
No reason was specified.

Date the ban will be lifted: Never

Damn... They hatin' on the TL already. I tried and tried to think if I've ever been on the site before, and I have not. Grrr.. I e-mailed the mod to see whats up though.

Makes me want to buy one of those shirts that says "silly ricer - wings are for planes". I know there were no wings there, but there were plenty of redneck ricers.

Yeehawwwww

Maybe it was just because it was a Tuesday though. There's gotta be some people with cool cars somewhere out here. The red TL and the s2000 were cool for the 5 minutes they were there.

Hey everybody. Sucks to hear that meet sucked, good thing I didn't make the drive

Things are good out here on the east coast, hangin out and working for dad (I'll send you my fancy ecommerce website when I am finished so you can all buy garden tools!).

How much do the thermoblocks run? I would be curious to figure out the time-to-recoup the cost through MPG gains.

A bit of painful fun - I took this pic last night in Providence - ouch:
