I haven't heard anything from anyone about showing up, or someone bringing charcoal. Without that, we're back to eating raw brats again, ugh.
If Jorge is up for it, I'm willing to meet there. Or, we could all just jump in my pool/hot tub and kick it here in the city.

Those brats weren't as bad as those raw hamburgers we had to eat.
Someone... please.... pledge to us the gift of fire.
Not that I don't like you - but if we can't get anyone together for a meet, I may just stick around the house and use Sunday to get some work done on my own car. The sooner I get my car fixed, the sooner I can plug up the oil fountain we call the Suzuki.
If you weren't doing anything though, I'd be willing to throw down on some strongbow for ya if you felt like taking a drive down. The to-do list as it stands: 1) Rotate the tires
2) Oil Change
3) Put in chrome turn signal bulbs
4) Remove / reseal tails with actual sealer instead of the OEM compression seal

50% front windows, dark as you want from the driver back. Nothing on the windshield - but hopefully you knew that already.
I think as long as you don't go 5%, you'll probably be OK unless you put every piece of chrome you can buy on ebay, and every stick-on accessory you can find.

While you are correct that cops are most likely not going to write you for dark tint in the back, they could. To be legal, you can't have more than 50% on ANY windows and nothing on the windshield.
This site sums it up without having to read any of the legalese on the Minnesota DMV website.

I guess I can't argue with that, but I do have a question then. So are you/they saying that the rear windows on my truck, or the ones on my blazer, expedition, or any other truck that comes smoked from the factory with the privacy glass is <50%? I though that tint was dark as hell - like 15% or something.
Any thoughts? because I'm pretty sure I can't match the rears on the truck unless I want to take the chance.

I think I found it...
"S.U.V.s often have different regulations, which are not listed here"
Edit: Here is the full version. Basically says the same thing. Factory smoked windows aren't regulated by the law since they have been inspected and certified by the DMV befroe production.
(1) when the windshield is composed of, covered by, or treated with any material which
has the effect of making the windshield more reflective or in any other way reducing light
transmittance through the windshield;
(2) when any window on the vehicle is composed of, covered by, or treated with any material
that has a highly reflective or mirrored appearance;
(3) when any side window or rear window is composed of or treated with any material so
as to obstruct or substantially reduce the driver's clear view through the window or has a light
transmittance of less than 50 percent plus or minus three percent in the visible light range or a
luminous reflectance of more than 20 percent plus or minus three percent; or
(4) when any material has been applied after August 1, 1985, to any motor vehicle window
without an accompanying permanent marking which indicates the percent of transmittance and
the percent of reflectance afforded by the material. The marking must be in a manner so as not to
obscure vision and be readable when installed on the vehicle.
(b) This subdivision does not apply to glazing materials which:
(1) have not been modified since the original installation, nor to original replacement
windows and windshields, that were originally installed or replaced in conformance with Federal
Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 205;
(2) are required to satisfy prescription or medical needs of the driver of the vehicle or a
passenger if the driver or passenger is in possession of the prescription or a physician's statement
of medical need; or
(3) are applied to:
(i) the rear windows of a pickup truck as defined in section 168.011, subdivision 29;
(ii) the rear windows or the side windows on either side behind the driver's seat of a van as
defined in section 168.011, subdivision 28;
(iii) the side and rear windows of a vehicle used to transport human remains by a funeral
establishment holding a license under section 149A.50; or
(iv) the side and rear windows of a limousine as defined in section 168.011, subdivision 35.

I'm beginning to think that we are stuck with a bunch of Acura owners that don't really care about their cars.
I remember the good ol' days when me and you, Dan, Jorge, and Ken used to get together and make our cars so much cooler.
Now we can't even get anyone to pitch in $6 for a bag of charcoal even though we are going on the hunt for a supply of meat and car parts.
So Josh.... what are your plans this weekend? Doesn't sound like there's gonna be a meet at all. You want to hang out? I dunno about swimming, but I'd be down for hanging out at your place. Otherwise we can do some work on either my car or yours, or the wifey's oil field.
I will have a pressure washer by that time, so we could detail the shit out of your car if you wanted. I've got some sweet Mothers 3-step wax that we could use. I would be willing to stake my man-card on the fact that if we use the mothers on your car, we could not set a leather wallet on your hood without it sliding off.
Stage 1 = wax/bug/tar stripper
Stage 2 = Sealant / Swirl remover
Stage 3 = Carnuba clear coat
I've got either rags (much neater if you ask me, but more labor) - or I have got a random orbitol buffer with some new bonnets if needed.
Let me know either way. I plan on working on something this weekend - just depends on whether it is for fun, or if it is a necessity. Honestly, my only determining factor is if someone else is around to talk to while the work is getting done.

Dudeeeeee i'm so doing what you did slepy, I wanted a shiny gloss like that and not like Ksuchdeve's. I don't like his, but yours is bomb. Yeah Josh I've never been a fan of the 99-01's rims, there blahhhhh. And as for sunday thats the last day before I start having to get up at 5am every morning for the rest of the summer, so I will be partying all day. But man i'm painting my stock rims like that asap. Oh and for tint what i've found from people i've talked to pretty much anything under 20 i've heard cops will notice, so 20% up is what I say. I have 28% on meter and I wish I woulda got 20% so don't make the mistake of going to light.

I say go with a micro-tower setup, with a plexiglass side. Then you goto a craft store, and get some etching gel. Find the biggest (or make) acura symbol you can on the internet, and cut it out of the plexiglass protective cover. Rub some etching on it - let it sit for 5 minutes, and walllah.... you've got an Acura PC. Then you make sure to add some blue LED's to the case, or at least buy a fan with LED's in it - and everything matches the car inside and out.

If you tint 50%, you are pretty much getting more function over form. It's not going to be nice and dark - for that blacked out look. But it will help reflect some of the heat and glare from your car.
If you google some tinting places, you should be able to see cars with different levels of tint, just so you ahve an idea of what to expect.

Depends on if your going to drive like a nancy....lol
I wasn't quite sure how interested I was in doing autocross - but that pretty much confirms that I don't see it happening in my near future.
Unless that is - I pick up another set of tires. But I have much more that I need to do before i start buying tires to destroy.

That was from the equivalent of 5 events. In a normal event you get 6 timed laps and no, it will not shred them like that. They will get a chewed up look, but that is just from them getting hot and gripping.
Also, I was able to find a full set of the Michelins that come on the TL from the factory and pick them up for $10 per tire. CraigsList is your friend! I will finish off the Yokos and then put the Michelins on for the summer driving to the weddings and such, but I will also be looking for a good set of summer wheels/tires.
From the serious auto-x guys out there, they typically buy a set of tires, drive/race on them all summer and then they are toast. Put on your winter tires and save all winter for a new set of summer tires. It's cyclical.

There are only 3, but offer the guy $50 and see what he says. Then spend a few dollars more and get a new one, or leave the drivers' side rear the same and mount these up on the other corners.
