Thanks man . I'll pass on those silver lower grills, I have ideas on a new headlight set-up and I think that the stock black lower grills would flow nicely with it.

Pineapple...brake job looks great! I ordered the same setup tonite....finally. Do you think you could show/help me how to install them? I'd like to re-paint the calipers black as well, they could use a little sprucing up.
I've been out of the loop here for a while...changed jobs and took my demon offspring on vacation.

Ya, Just hope we don't have to drill those screws out of the rotors. That SUCKED!!!!! We can get everything done at once. Let me know when they come in and we can figure out a day to get them done.

Did you have to drill out the screws on your existing rotors to get them off? Oh man, that would suck. I'll let you know when mine arrive. What does your weekend look like? I think Fri nite or Sunday would work best but beggers cannot be choosers so let me know what would work for you.

When did you order them?
there are 2 screws that are in the rotor to hold them on while they go down the assembly line. Mine were rusted in and I had to drill them out.

Hey Evil_Pineapple, I know that you barely just put those new drilled/slotted rotors on. But what do you think of them, pro's & con's wise? Any input would be greatly appreciated. I'm still debating over if I should order these or just save & pick up the power slot slotted rotors down the road.

Well I want to be as honest with you fellas that I can be. Ill say this about the rotors... For the price, they are good. They look good, they stop the car. You get 4 rotors with pads. You can get a StopTech package from excelerate for $440 bucks. If you have the means... why not go for the top of the line or at least higher up. IMO, though, unless your actually going to be using these brakes for what they are made for (Driving over 100MPH) then why spend that much. To me, $145 bucks is good enough. I got them more for the look than for racing.
The only thing I have notice with the rotors is there is kind of a clicking noise with the rear passenger side. Its kind of like something is rubbing against the holes on the rotor. I thought at first that it was my tranny or something but I put the car up on jack stands and let the front wheels spin, there was no sound. When I lifted the passenger rear wheel and spun the wheel by hand I could here it. I popped the wheel off and turned it again and heard it. I took the caliper off and removed the pads and the sound went away. I visually inspected the rotor and the pads and couldn't see anything weird. Im gonna check it out again here soon and ill let you guys know what I find.
I hooked up rico651 up with the same set of rotors and pads and haven't heard anything from him about ay problems and he says he loves them. I would say get them. I might have a defective rotor or something but I cant say for sure until I have more time to do a better check.
Ok, Would you be able to leave your car with me on friday during the day? PM me your number man, Ill txt you... thats easier for me

Evil...I was reading the entire brakemotive thread about the rotors and pads and a few people brought up the clicking noise you are referring to. Brakemotive said that clicking noise is common on rotors that are cross-drilled and will go away once they break-in a little.
I had the same issue when I bought cross-drilled & slotted rotors for my old Lincoln LS...it went away eventually. I recall having a "woosh" sound all the time when I got on the brakes as well due to the holes and slots. Kind of annoying at first and made me think there was something wrong with my car but I got used to it.

I did both of the things you asked about when I owned my Type-S at about 50,000 miles. The manual say 100,000 miles for spark plugs but I noticed a 1-2 MPG increase after I put in the new ones and rotated the coils. Both of your questions have a DIY step by step guide in the 3G TL section of this website just search and you'll find it.

Evil Pineapple....got my rotors and pads yesterday. I'm pretty pumped to see what these things look like when we're done. What time do you want to start on Sunday?
Took my car in to Buerkle yesterday to get my tranny, brake and coolant changed out along with an oil change...$330...yuck. They gave me a 2012 TL as a loaner. I have to say, the 4G's are starting to grow on me...slowly, very slowly. I wish they could take the interior of a 2012 and put it into a 3G body... that would be pimp.

Well, why dont you come to my place around 9am. That way we got plenty of time to work on it. Just in case we run into some issues.

Could have gotten all that done yourself. Ive changed coolant myself in every car Ive ever had... Brake fluid takes a while but it saves you money!
