Count me in, but lets set-up where to meet. We could do Como again (the lot by Como Lake) or Lake Harriet like the original meet was supposed to be at. Anybody got any other idea's?

Never said I was gone forever. Just need to clear some of my debt right now. A house is priority ATM, I'm trying to find an 04 TL 6 spd with decently low miles. I'll still come down and visit. If you guys need headlight / taillight mods done just let me know.

We should all come over to your place, for an all out car cleaning meet. I like cleaning and detailing my car. How much detailing are you going to do with all this crappy weather. I take it you are not going to the meet.

Yea, i was in the garage ALL day and just now finished Brian's car. Man did the previous owner and walser hack it up. Got it looking pretty damn good though. I think you should help him touch up the paint though... like you did on your car. His front end is ROUGH.

Alrighty you book-loving friends. I'm having a brain fart over here and just cannot get this figured out. I know it's not hard, but I'm over analyzing something and it's confusing me.
Basically I'm trying to figure out if non-oxy gas is worth it for me. I know there is plenty of debate, but the FACTS that I am going by are : Increased MPG, and manual recommends non-ethenol gas (non-oxy).
Basically, here is where I'm at. I can get 92 octane from SA for 3.99 and will get 18.8 MPG. Or, I can get 91 octane non-oxy for 4.19 but I will see 20.6 MPG.
Basically, I'm trying to figure out if the 20 cents difference is worth the extra 1.8 MPG's that I'm seeing in real world driving. I want to say that it is actually worth it (roughly 10% increase in MPG, at a 5% price increase). Am I thinking right?

Since I'm pretty clueless when it comes to working on cars I'm wondering if anyone would be willing to do some work for me / show me how to do it? I usually have my brother do this type of work but he kind of has a blank stare when it comes to Japanese cars . I can show you where the gas goes...and that's about it. You would be compensated for your time with some ca$h.
Work I'd like to do / need done:
-Replace CV joints (one is bad, may as well do both)
-Replace rotors & brake pads
-Replace serpentine belt
-Look at AEM filter (not sure if previous owner ever cleaned/replaced it?)
-My car is at 60K miles....change whatever fluids need to be changed (transmission?, differential?)
Let me know which of those items I would be better off having a mechanic shop doing.

For the CV, I wouldn't bother replacing both at the same time, they aren't like brakes in that both sides wear evenly. Usually if the boots are intact and they are not leaking grease, they'll last a long time. Frankly I'm surprised that yours is bad at 60k, that's really early and you might have something else going on.
There's someone on here that FAR more knowledgeable than I on all things Acura that could chime in and provide more information for you (cough, Josey (sp?) cough...)

Let me know when you have a free weekend. My buddy Marty does nothing but suspension and brake work all day everyday at his shop. I can bring you to his place and he can check things over for you and let you know EXACTLY what you should do and when to do it by. changing rotors and pads are one of the easiest things you can do. I can show you how to do those. As far as the serpentine belt goes, when you were at my place Josey said you need to replace it VERY soon. If your strapped for cash, you can use my old one for now cause it is alot better than your current one is. We can do that in your garage or mine. Your filter... If its dirty, nasty, filthy (just how I like my women... ) then change it. We can also do that in your garage or mine. The fluid part of it, ask Josey and again we can do a "maintenance" meet at your place or mine.

Hey guys. Been a long time. The last time I was on here, we had just recently had a meet at Buerkle Acura. I know that Jorge was there, and I believe Takata as well?
Nice to see some new faces as well.
I am looking to do the stage 3 mod on my exhaust, and was curious to know if anyone recommended a good shop to do this, and also if any of you have done it yourselves?

I am free the weekend of the 28th....then I have weddings to attend the next three consecutive weekends starting June 4th. Yuck.
I have zero tools so I'd be better off coming to your place. I may just replace the serpentine belt at Valvoline down the street so it's over with and I don't have to worry about it?

I am contemplating going with cross-drilled and slotted rotors, I had them on my old Lincoln LS and they worked well. Do you guys think they're worth the money and what type would you recommend buying? My last set was from Poland but they lasted a long time.
How about brake pads? I saw a set of A-Spec OEM pads on eBay for $120....am I better off just getting some nice non-OEM pads?

If your more comfortable with valvoline doing the belt thats cool, just find out price first. Then make the decision cause thats a super easy job.

Ok, I talk to my buddy and he is free on Saturday the 28th. You can meet me at my place and then we can run up to his house and he will look over your suspension and brakes and tell you what you need. then you can decide what to do from there.

You're right....I'll just wait until I come to your place to do the serpentine belt....it's made it this far *crosses fingers*

Let me know what time you want to meet next saturday so I can let my buddy know what time we will be there. We could do your belt before we go to his place, shouldnt take more than 30min. If it does, we have no business going anywhere near a car...

[quote=Evil_Pineapple;12961482]Are you just replacing stock rotors and pads or are you going with performance?
replacing stock rotors and the pads the previous owner replaced. looking for new pads/slotted rotors/calipers maybe? so i guess performance

That should work. I'll double check with the "boss" at home just to make sure. I'm assuming I can just go to any parts store and as them for a make/model specific serpentine belt? Unless there is a specific brand you'd recommend?
