Pineapple of DOOM!!!!
Hey guys, where is a good shop locally to get an alignment performed at? I believe you said we could tackle the sway bars and coilovers ourselves, but I would need to bring my car to a shop for an alignment. I think Josh recommended a guy up north who does a great job, but I forgot his name. I need to get a quote for the labor since I am trying to have the guy who's couch hit my car pay for it because ever since that incident my car pulls to the left.
My buddy Marty at hoover alignment in Minneapolis right off of 35W and East Hennepin. He does great work. He is no bullshit. He is the only person i let touch my suspension.

The Car was at the body shop I got rear ended a week ago. They did an excellent job as usual.
The only damage was the bumper shell which they are giving me anyone needs a shell let me know. So while my wife's MDX was at the dealer for some warranty work they gave great me a deal on an alignment( evil It was a good deal and close to my house. If not I would have brought it to your buddy). So I asked my buddy at the dealer if the would do me a favor.
Since they have a lift and I don't I gave it a try.
They would not do it because it is tampering with the emmision of the vehicle and it is illegal.
So I will be doing it my self maybe tomorrow after work. If you want to help you are more than welcome, but I am not going to pay you to do this for me. Thats not how we do things at the shop. The guys that have come over know that. ![Too Cool](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/toocool.gif)

Sorry to hear about the accident. I didn't know you got rear-ended. I wouldn't ask you to pay me for helping.....I was just giving you crap about paying someone to do it for you. It really isn't a big job, but if you know someone with a lift it's a million times easier!

Upcoming events
Since no one apparently likes to arrange meets or anything of the sort, I thought I would step-up to the plate. I am thinking our next meet & cruise should take place mid-June. I am thinking we could meet at Harriet Island again, but actually grill and hangout this time. Then we could go for a cruise through downtown Stillwater and WI. I also thought I would create a list of upcoming events that I know about.
UPCOMING EVENTS:
June 6th: 2010 AcuraZine National Meet (Kansas City, MO) [http://tiny.cc/chvp5]
June 12th: Eurowerks 4 (Minneapolis, MN) [http://tiny.cc/i03s2]
July 10th: RPM The Next Generation Automotive Lifestyle Festival and Car Show (Chicago, IL) [http://tiny.cc/3zl02]
July 16th-18th: Car Craft Summer Nationals (St. Paul, MN) [http://tiny.cc/4sle5]
I'll keep adding to the list as I become aware of more events.

I haven't been online forever... My car is still at the shop, but almost done, in the end i went though 5 hoods before they got one that we could use. I'll post pics once my car looks like it should.

If I remember correctly, it was a ZX-6R. Lemme know if you want a bike, how much you want to spend, and how much fixing you are willing to do. My brother gets them from places up here and is willing to pick one up on order if you are going to buy it from him.

I would like to spend around 2 grand for the bike, but I am flexible. I wouldn't mind doing some work on it, in fact I would kind of like that, just to get a chance to get used to the bike

For 2 grand you are definitely going to have to work on it, especially if you want to get something made in the last 5 years or so. You can get an older bike for about that much, but it's not going to be the hottest new thing. It is probably best that you start on something older just so that you can learn on something a little bit less powerful. Even a bike from 1989 is going to be MUCH faster than any sub-$100k car.

I think that you should stick with a 600 to keep the costs and the power down.
For an early 90's bike the FZR is a good bike, for later 90's (95 and later) it's the GSX-R, early 2000's it's the R6.

Power wise I'm not too concerned, cuz yeah, pretty much any bike is faster than most cars, and I can still have fun
I would prefer the bike to be no earlier than late 90's, but beggars can't be choosers, I'm just looking for a good starter bike.
Do you know what I have to do in MN to get my license?

I got my license in MO and it transferred up here, so not really. I know that there is a course you can take at DCTC where you can rent a bike and they are 150s or something. That would be a good starting point.
Realistically, there are some bikes that if you buy a newer year you are just spending more money. For example, the FZR from 1989 when it was introduced until they quit manufacturing it was essentially the same bike. They did something different in 91 with a single headlight for a more aerodynamic look, but people wanted the dual headlights so they went back to it in 92.
But the bikes (in your price range) that were revolutionary when they came out were the 89 FZR, 95 GSX-R, and the 98 R1. The FZR only comes in 600, the GSX-R is a 600, 750, and later a 1000, the R1 came in R6 flavors (1000 and 600).

I just watched World Superbike with commentary in Italian.
Let me just say that you know you are a fan of something when you can spend an hour watching it in Italian. Especially when you don't speak Italian...

Travis, you should make a calendar in Google Calendar and allow people to add it to their calendar tool. That way you could update it easily and people could have reminders set for the events.
