If we are trying to do a BBQ again, the only place on this side of the HRBT that I can think of is Newport News Park, but I will look around. There may be another location. If I find something, i will let you know. I know that a BBQ is more fun. I will look hard for something.

If you don't want to do a BBQ, then there are plenty of mall and shopping center parking lots here close to the Interstate, which is important so no one gets lost. I want to plan a cruise of some sort as well if there is a possible good location.

Yeah, I think I'd like to do another BBQ. The other option that I thought about was to go to a go karting place in the area. It's called AIK (American Indoor Karting). They've got the pro karts that go about 40 mph. That would be a little more difficult though because I would need to get a garuntee that people are going to show. I don't want to foot the bill and then have no one show up.

I am down for that as well. Sounds really cool. Just not sure how many guarantees you will get with the distance some will be traveling to get here. Now if you only need say 20 people to guarantee, then more show up and it is no problem with them to pay as they show, then maybe a good idea. Do they also have a place to BBQ? Or some place close by? Just something to expand the whole "meet" experience if we can do it all.

I'm down with karting too! You guys are going to make me move back down to Virginia haha! I just can't wait until the damn spring so I can get rid of my 4x4 and drop my baby on some teins! Couldn't we always do a BBQ or cookout at a local park? I know Chesapeake has a nice one and I'm sure there isn't a shortage in Virginia Beach. I'm sure if we behave like adults we won't have to worry about the police, although they might be more than happy to ticket me and everyone else for illegal window tint lol.

I think we would have fun doing whatever we decide Police is actually pretty chill with car enthusiasts and meets as long as evader said, we act mature and like adults. I've always wanted a picture of my TL with a cop car...

 

Just as long as the cop car isn't behind you with his lights on right? That wouldn't be my idea shot either. There is a member on here that has a RBP TL he works for a local sheriff or is a sheriff I can't remember, anyway he put the Sheriffs magnets on the side, it was bad ass looking. I'm sure some of you know exactly who i'm talking about.

The big summer meet that you guys are talking about (like the bbq from last yr) would deff be awesome and ill deff be there but... goin to AIK go karting would make ZERO sence... as that meets purpose was.. know each other, look at others cars, basically what im sayin is communicate about ACURAs.. get tips and clue.. may find ur new mod haha and just u know look at each others cars and stuff... and go karting would be nothing related to that haha where the CARS(which is the reason we are on this site) would be just parked all by their selfs far away haha... idk just a thought droppin in my 2cents again haha

 

I think karting and the BBQ would be cool, but probably better off done seperately. If we do a BBQ, people are gonna wanna take pics and more than likely do a cruise. If we do the karting, a cruise after that would not be a good idea. Most people, myself included, will be all hyped up from driving the karts and would probably end up driving their cars pretty crazily. I think a small get together would be good for karts, but for the BBQ, I'd like to get as many people as possible. I'll look into parks in the area and find out what will work. I live on the Chesapeake, Va Beach line so they are all about the same distance from me. I'll see what I can come up with.

 

snowman there was one place out near the beach iwent to this past thanksgiving trip i thought would be nice for a bbq and a photo shoot. i wil get the address but it was pretty cool.

Let me know if you remember the name of it. There is a place down by the beach called Redwing park but it is $100 just to rent the pavallion.

 

is it like kinda secluded in some residental area by the beach, i went down this long ass bike trail/ road(it was really just a narrow road lol) and where we stopped was kinda at a beach but by a river or lake. to get ot this park or watever we drove out to teh beach and followed it down past the hotels and so on goin left all the way and then we hit it where the it was mostly just houses and so on both sides and we followed some car down there. let me kno if u have any idea of wat im talkin about snowman. ya lets keep karting and bbq seperate and i do kinda agree with stupid, yes this a message board for acuras but at the same time it cant hurt to get to know the owners of the acura's, i dont think it shoudl always be serious u kno?

There is a place near Lynhaven Mall (Car Spa?) that does a decent job I might have to make a stop there too before coming to the meet! I go to ODU also. I graduate next month. I don't think I've ever seen your car around, this semester I'm only on campus on Monday and Wednesday nights.

Hopefully soon to be working at the shipyard here in Newport News as a crane operator. It pays pretty well. I will be working there provided none of my small medical issues disqualifies me.
