I was thinking the same thing, do it just for fun. You can get all kinds of ideas there. I have entered my car in several shows locally. Did not win anything (did not expect to) but you meet a lot of cool people, make connections, that kind of thing and you get a lot of experience and learn a ton of information to help you out in the future.

Hey, during the last meet, did you all discuss how we were going to go about promoting this site/thread to people we come across on the street? I propose opening something like a "Welcome" thread for newcomers with basic info on how to navigate the site and join us for our activities. We can make up a flyer with the link and a little more info and give it to them or place it on their windshields. Whatya think?

 

Yes, we did discuss it a bit, but not in detail. That type of thread sounds like a good idea. The only thing that I am afraid of is if noone posts on it, it will disappear. I will be bringing my ideas again today during our mini meet. It will also introduce newcomers to the site and where to go to find information about their Acura such as "Problems and fixes", the "Photo gallery", or just how to go to the TL, TSX, RL, MDX or RDX communities.

Yep, there was. The only way I can keep up to date with these is to look in the meets section at the very least every 3 days and scroll through the Hampton Roads, VA (register here).... thread to see what is new. l look at all the posts since the last time I looked at it to make sure I did not miss anything. I also scroll through the meets section just in case it is not listed in the other thread.

If I think about it, I will be sending out PM's from now on to make sure everyone gets the info.

I actually would like to upload this on the forum in some way so that anyone can download it and print it out. I will probably have to talk to the administrators to figure that out but that will come when this is finished. I guess I could always save it as a picture and load it the same way I did for my car pics? I will bring a printed copy to the mod party for all to see.

Actually started putting that flier on Acuras last night (which I changed just a bit.) Will soon talk to the mods about how to post it.

Saw a Red 2nd gen CL with nice rims (19's or 20's, goes to Hampton University) lowered just a bit, 2 2nd gen TL-S's, and 5 or 6 3rd Gen's (1 maybe 2 or 3 were type s I think). One of the 3rd gens not type s had his rims chromed. Pretty sure they were stock rims. He might be interested in joining the site, as well as the one 3g type s. Did not actually talk to them but just a hunch.

I deliver pizza (not with my TL) so I get around a lot. I saw them just about everywhere I went.

Which one are you going to? I may think about it, but I am back to the grindstone (work and school, makes for a really hectic schedule). Weekends are my downtime but now that my g/f and I (well mostly her) got a puppy, we spend a lot of time trying to house train the damn thing so he stops peeing all over the place.
