Well, after 7 long months of waiting, and getting screwed over by the first guy. I finally put more money together and hired a reputable company owned by someone I've known for a long time. They finally got started on the yard and fence yesterday!

There was a dispute with the neighbors, and they wanted the posts moved back, so we obliged. I would have been happier to be closer to their fence, but it wasn't worth the hassle.

why were your neighbors fussing? Were you trying to go past your property line?

 

No double gate, I'm only doing a gate on the backside of the house, but I can back my truck right up to the back so it works, a double on the front side would limit the privacy fence and cost way more money, and I don't think I'd really ever use it.

Hell no, I would never try and go across their line. They're just old and have nothing better to do than worry about what I'm doing. They wanted me to leave 3-4 feet of room on MY side of the property in addition to the 2-3 feet on their side. I gave them 6" additional

But their gripe was that there wasn't enough room left on my side of the property for "maintenance" After moving the posts back 6" there is now 4-5 feet between the 2 fences

 

Well, they didn't come yesterday because they were waiting on the machine to become available, but they made great progress on Tuesday and got about half the fence up, and most of the rest of the posts cemented.

They got half the front fence done as well. Had to leave room for the skid steer to get through.

I didn't take any pics of the half done top, but you can see it in the back. They showed up today and went to work.

They tore up all the weeds and raked all the dirt, got rid of all the rock, and raked the dirt back off of the wall.

They also removed all the weeds and fixed the hill that was getting overgrown with weeds.

They're still working, and expecting to finish today. I will post more, it just rained a bit, so they had to take a break.
