So, no big updates. I have been working on cleaning and reorganizing various rooms in the house. I spent most of my 5 day Thanksgiving weekend reorganizing my office, and cleaning and reorganizing my man cave/basement, and steam cleaning the carpet down there. I thawed out and cleaned my little beer fridge and cleaned it out. I also set up my new wine fridge, picked it up on clearance from Lowe's on an impulse buy. It's a 2 zone 38 bottle Frigidaire.

20151203_172057_zpsba1jmttg.jpg

I originally tried putting it in the corner on the other side where my beer fridge was, but it stuck out too far and didn't line up with the line of bookcases, so I swapped it to the other side of the room. Here's the beer fridge.
20151203_172105_zpshqzhhfye.jpg

My long term goal is to replace the kitchen appliances and move the old fridge down to my laundry room to become a bigger beer fridge, but for now this little guy who I've had for like 15 years does the trick. I'm going to also use the wine fridge for some of my bigger 22 oz and Quart size beer bottles that don't fit well in the beer fridge.

Not a fun update, but definitely a big one. Had to have my outside sewer house trap replaced. When I bought the house the terracotta vent pipe was crooked, but definitely still attached. But after years of erosion thanks to a faulty downspout pipe and earth shifting, the vent completely snapped off and moved about 3 feet away from the original trap. You can see the angle here, but the pics don't do it justice

20160115_121218_zpsnafbg8ga.jpg

Basically once the vent snapped off, the trap filled with dirt and clay and eventually got completely blocked up. Thankfully i noticed with shower water and not sewage that started to back up from under my garage floor
20160115_104948_zpslslermsc.jpg

And then my worst fear, my $89 sewer line cleaning, turned into a 4 grand nightmare. Here comes the trucks (the trucks all the way up the street are all for my house)
20160115_130726_zpskvhjeuhn.jpg

And let's dig a giant hole in my yard
20160115_144256_zpsgls3t5lk.jpg

20160115_145538_zpsnjtddb3o.jpg

And rip out the old terracotta pipe/trap, and hydroblast the line from the house to the trap
20160115_152005_zpsovspacrp.jpg

And here's my shiny new PVC trap... yay!

Bummer. Hopefully the last time you need sewer work.
When it's done I would eat 4 Chipotle burritos with extra hot sauce and christen her

Nothing too exciting, but finally got around to playing with my wood

I had 3 massive firewood piles, and they were on the ground covered by tarps and just didn't look very good on the back of the house. So I bought a firewood cradle and got to work...

IMG_20160412_160720332_zpsypc2lida.jpg

Next I had to enlist some help from my buddy to help move the massive amounts of wood.
IMG_20160412_161220908_zpsvkit2zxl.jpg

Pictures don't do it justice, the piles were HUGE!

Here's the 8 ft cradle loaded to the top
IMG_20160412_210912201_zps8p0wpalx.jpg

It came with a cover, but I didn't feel like tying it down in the dark, so I threw a tarp over it for now.
IMG_20160412_223218214_zpswhw6f8gu.jpg

My buddy also brought me another trailer of oak firewood, but I only took about a third, we made another wood stack on my back porch, and that will be the wood that I start burning this summer. I'm sore today, but it was so worth it getting the back yard all cleaned up!

Well, I guess you can judge your an(nu)al needs, right? If one rack lasts you the entire season of fire pitting and fire placing, then fk it...don't take up valuable yard space. Don't forget to toss dog shit into your neighbor's yard over the fence. We still have a message to send. Chris will not be fuked with.

So after my sewer debacle, they left me a giant pile of rock/clay and chunks of plastic pipe and terracotta pieces.
20160120_151929_zps5wpplzlo.jpg

20160120_151925_zpsa6nmu7xs.jpg

So I had plenty of work cut out for me, so I raked it out twice and removed all the rock from the dirt so that I could level it out.
IMG_20160429_160821797_zpsacgyu1by.jpg

They also tore the area around the hole up with their backhoe so there were plenty of other areas that needed fixed as well
IMG_20160429_160825869_zpsl3yzreni.jpg

So I hand seeded with grass seed, and covered it with Scott's grass soil to protect it.
IMG_20160429_172241723_zpsoiheyk8j.jpg

IMG_20160429_172246673_zpsyc8amrjf.jpg

I also uncovered the sewer trap after these pics, but slowly but surely getting my yard back together. More grass seed pics to come. I have 3 more big patches to fix

Looks good. You should cover that with some hay too to keep it wet.

I didn't want to mess with the hay yet. I will need it for the back yard. That's why I put the soil down, but you're right, I should put something over it
