Just got 360 Premium tonight... love it already, Gears of War is an awesome game.

 

Don't see the elite on Costco's website, if its not at the store, guess I'll have to buy the elite at BB and return my premium at Costco

 

I saw the Elite at Best Buy for 479.99.

If you really need it before Costco has it, just buy it with an AMEX card and they automatically apply the extended warranty service to it.

 

they had the elite on thier site i got one but after about 2 weeks they took it down.

 

i got the elite sunday morning. Been playing Lost Planet. The Elite is worth it just for the larger HD, but being able to run only 1 hdmi cable makes it even better for me.

oh yea, my gf bought it for me so hell fucking yea.

 

This is all perfect timing for me...as I am upgrading my TV and receiver this week. I'm upgrading my Sony XBR 70" Grand Wega to the Sony SXRD 70". 1080P here I come! GF thinks I'm crazy though. I'm upgrading from a Sony STRDA7ES receiver to a Denon AVR4806CI. It supports HDMI 1080P switching and it upscales to 1080P too. I will run all my sources to the receiver, and then to the TV so it will make my life easier.

I am selling my cousin my 360 w/ games and accessories for $360 and I will pick up the Elite (if I can find it) and PS3 shortly.


Will Microsoft have 1080P software available soon?

 

Thats quite the upgrade of tv's...do you have any extra cash lying around that you wanna donate to a college student

A few games are 1080p native already (Virtua Tennis 3 & NBA Street), but most aren't.

The good thing is that the 360 can scale all games up to 1080p which should look quite nice on your TV

Best Buy has some Elites for sale on their site today so I just ordered one for myself right now and used a couple gift cards I had been hoping to use for this.

Can't wait to get it.

I sent my 360 to M$ to get it repaired because the DVD drive wouldn't stay closed. Got it back in a week. I thought they were gonna 'repair' it, but they said, "we REPLACED your unit with a 'replacement unit." Well, the 'replacement unit' is way, way more quiet than the one I sent in. I preordered it in '05, so obviousely, it was one of first units in production. Guess I got my old unit replaced
with one that was made after they had the bugs worked of the systems?

Anyways, my question: Do you guys think I got a NEW unit, or a REFURBISHED(oh man, heres that dreaded word!!) one?

Damn!! Well, my warranty is still in effect for another year or two!

 

Supposedly they are refurbs. Some guy on another forum plugged in his "new" 360 and within minutes his whole room smelled like cigarette smoke. Seems the previous owner was a smoker...

 

I don't typically dread refurb merchandise. I usually can't tell, but there are lemons no matter whether you buy new or refurb. That's why we have warranties.

 

does anyone know how to convert videos to play on the 360 after the software update? I used to be able to convert to .wmv, but now those files won't work. totally sucks.

I was there yesterday and didn't see it... but then again the stores get different things in from one store to another and also from one region to another... so a store in Illinois may have it but a store in California may not. But one thing for sure, you can buy online and return at any store

 

oh, and btw... you can always go to the customer service counter and ask, they'll pull up the inventory data and tell you when they are expecting shipment or which store's getting what/when

I doubt it, I hardly ever believe it whenever any companies say "...it's limited" If it sells... they'll keep making it... I think the only time I've seen anything "limited" is when Disney say that a certain animated movie/DVD will "...go back into the Vault..." They usually mean it.

OR they limit the elite but a few months down the road they'll come out with "XBox Platinum" or something...

hmmm so I can't find my receipt to my premium xbox, i called and she said they might be able to look it up. IS300easter, have you ever had a problem?

 

I had to return it once w/o receipt, they kinda frawned on that... but they looked it up in my "history". Even though (sometimes) they say their data doesn't keep track, they do... they just don't like to admit... worst case... they'll offer you credit on a "cash card"... and if you spend as much as I do at Costco... you'll use that credit up fast... so it's as good as cash
