I used the Formula Gran Turismo (F1 car). It's awesome. I'm at 35.8% complete now. I have 1 endurance race left and got my super license last night.

Only 2 divisions of the Extreme events are done right now, but more progress will be made over the weekend.

 

I got my S License. Only 85% to go!

Did you guys buy trucks, light cars, roadsters, boxter engine cars, etc??? It bugs me that I have to buy cars I don't intend to keep so that I can advance to professional halls...

 

Just the fun part so you can test all cars. Maybe you'll find a car you like that you thought you'd hate. Besides the boxer engines should be a RUF or Subaru right.

i've beaten the addiction. Only played once on friday night!! Friday night will now be my GT4 night. All other times, must be in mode.

what do i have to beat to get an F1 car, and where can i find the F1 races?

Am I the only one who hates the Miata endurance race? I hated it in GT3, even more so in GT4 because its now a 4 fucking hours race.

There is no way I am gonna sit for such a boring race for 4 straight hours, right now my B-Spec driver is doing all works. (And only 100k for the prize money? You gotta be kidding...)

 

damn well for US version, you have to beat F1 championship to get it (15 F1 endurance races) - so, you Asian peeps have to use the Sauber for the license test, yet you get to win it easily... we get an easier test, but much harder to get the Sauber...

 

win Nurburgring 24 hours - use Bspec mode. After you do that, you can enter the F1 Championship event in Extreme Events. Before you can get into there, you need to finish all Beginner and Professional league events.

 

you're not the only one - I B-spec'ed that race without even thinking about it.

The Cr prize may be only 100k, but the prize car is the RX-7 LM...

 

That was the 1st Endurance I did in 3. Yeah it sucked too since the car oversteers for nothing.

What you need is a wide screen TV. one that can go split screen. I can watch my cartoons and keep an eye on B-spec mode or even play at the same time.
I also use the fiber optic audio and the RGB video inputs if only the damn game would leave the screen in HD. I keep having to switch it back everytime I turn it on.

I actually like it! I switch between A and B spec during pits tho, so I lose my a-spec points. but its fun trying to break your lap time. my best was an 1:03. besides, its the best way to learn a new track!

 

has anyone actually done those 8, 9, and 24 hour races??
what the fuck is that shit all about?!?!? absolutely ridiculous, no one's gonna sit there for that long.....even w/ b-spec its ridiculous, cuz you can't just leave it cuz when the car auto pits you gotta manually make the speed back to 3x

I've done all endurance races as have many. The ps2 didn't get turned off for a week. You don't HAVE to sit there the whole time. I usually just let it run while I'm at work, sleeping, ect. I'll check it every few hours to see if I'm done with a race, and thats about it.

Come on, you have to work smarter, not harder.

as of late we have been trying to break 6:00 at the Ring with a production vehicle - i.e. not an LM or race car or whatnot... I've got it down to 6:02 in both a Z06 (740hp) and a Supra (840hp). It's tough because the lap pretty much has to be perfect or close to it.

The Z06 is so stable.. easier to drive. The Supra requires more care, and harder to drive well - but in a sense its more fun to drive because of that... more challenging. Do full mods on a Supra and drop it to 3rd or 4th gear at 40mph or so and give it some gentle throttle.... they have the sound down.... sounds like a single turbo Supra would sound.... so bad ass... you can probably hear the hallmark sound with any of the turbo upgrades...

 

This week it's time to return my DFP wheel and "rent" it from another large retailer.

Although it's $150, and I sure do play GT4 a lot, I just cant bring myself to "buy and keep" it.

 

I just noticed you can toggle the ghost car in Practice mode... great for when you are in time attack and the ghost car is interfering with concentration... happens a lot to me at least. Just hit UP on the D-pad to toggle. This is in the key assignment window, but I just didn't notice it (and try it) until now.

Had been wishing for a way to turn it off.

 

is it bad to leave PS2 running for 24 hours straight?

 

Any reason why the ghost would disappear in the License tests? Happened once in a while.

 

I love that game too. I bought an extra taiko drum and I used to play it nonstop with my wife before getting Resident Evil 4. After Resident Evil 4, I have not touched it since. I think I will start playing it again soon after I get bored with GT4. I think it's a pretty cool game. We even bought that Donkey Konga game and drums. Pretty fun but it's more fun banging away with the drum sticks. Annoys the crap out of everyone else in the house when me and my wife plays. LOL.

 

that's what i'm afraid of....won't that shit over heat or something?

Took me a while to figure out why he would go away.

Press the up arrow on your directional pad to turn the ghost on/off.

Additionally you can press select button to display driving lines during liscense tests. Dunno if this was widely known at first, but I sure didn't know.
