I play frequently and need more friends to play co op!


Think I'm only a lvl 12 Warlock or something, but I'm pretty good.

 

Wooo. Lvl 26. Need one more legendary armor piece and Ill hit 27.

If I get this right I need to upgrade all my equipment without Shards via Spirit Bloom, Helium Fil, etc and I should hit 28.
Then I'll need to collect Shards to finish that to hit 30?? Or is there a big step I haven't seen being only at 26 so far?

Which means Ill round out my leveling with the Queens Guard Armor?? Huh. I think that is cool because I figured like most games there may be just one or two best sets. Making it really boring once everyone has found it. But if it's just any legendary class meticulously leveled up then it may look pretty diverse even when most people have similar high rating armor.

 

You will only cap out at 27 if you upgrade without shards. With shards you'll cap out at 28 I believe. To get to 29, you'll need a maxed out Exotic armor. To get to 30, you'll need all Raid gear including an exotic.

 

TSXy Luster, what's the best way to defeat Atheon for you? Everyone being in the middle with the relic putting up a shield or having everyone scattered and have the relic do his super? My team had the relic do the super so I'm wondering if it's better to have the relic put up the shield on the middle platform.

Almost all of my buddies are 26 and if they get there, I'll be guiding them through the Raid this weekend.

 

I've done both ways, and to be honest the jump to the middle is better because (1) easier to coordinate new people (2) don't have to worry about people not doing DPS/their part.

2 constant are to have someone that knows how to use the relic, use the relic and the weakest member of the team be on the portal team, not the supplicant.

 

Oh crap, we brought in the strongest players to go to the portal, haha. We were really worried about being overpowered on Mars so we had a Voidwalker and Gunslinger to help out using their super.

 

Yeah because it is easier for the weakest player to survive just shooting oracles than suicide supplicants.

Did a run tonight and beat it under an hour!
Once I hit 29, I'm coming for you, hard raid!

Sucks that they made Ascendant materials legendary and not rare now though.

This week's Nightfall is doable solo, but just takes time. I did it solo and it took me 1 hour :/

 

Fuuuck 1 hr! You've got better armor and weapons so it would take me even longer if I can make it at all.

What gets me is if I have no where to hide. If I can back pedal then I can win. If Im stuck in a limited area and the boss and berserk then I'm toast if I'm solo.

Happy the patch it out. I'll probably play tonight because of it. I want to do some more Queens Wrath to get some legendary gauntlets. Not high enough to attempt a raid yet, let alone no friends high enough.

 

I've been looking at this game, and seriously thinking about it. But, from what I've been reading here it seems like the multiplayer is a huge part of it. Almost like a FPS MMO. How's the single player campaign? And is it worth it if you're not a big fan of playing with a bunch of 14 year olds?

Also, is there a local split screen multiplayer mode? Something like CoD or Halo?

 

there is no split player mode. basically you play a campaign with a bunch of people on the same server. the campaign is good imo, it keeps you busy, but the missions may feel boring since they are all on the same map. but you do get new places to play on

 

So the game is online only?

Should've also mentioned that I have a PS3 and no plans to get a PS4 in the immediate future.

 

its online based and you do need playstation plus for certain missions.

if you think you are getting a PS4 before January i would buy the digital version as you can download it again on the PS4 at no charge and keep your place in the game.

 

I'm really only considering it because I have a $57 psn credit. Think I'll pass for now and see what's on the horizon.

 

I wish I have the time to make multiple characters. I see people making multiples and then getting them all to farm loot from the daily, weekly, nightfall, and raid.

Strange coins and ascendant materials are so easy to get that way :/

 

I wish I could create multiple characters too, but I just don't have the time for that. I don't even have enough time to play one character.

For the PS3, all online content doesn't require Playstation Plus. It's completely free for PS3 owners.

 

I need to get to 29/30 for Hard raid, but don't have 60 ascendant shards to do so


p.s. Having elemental damage on your primary weapon is beyond fantastic.

 

*sigh* it's so hard leading a team that is completely new to Raid. They don't listen to the basic strategies and just want to do their own thing. For example at the Templar level, the left and right team needs to be close towards the back to cover their Oracles but instinctively the new guys position themselves further away from the spawn cause they're scared. One guy completely refuses to try out the relic moves even when I told him he needs to help me clear the mobs with it at the Gatekeeper stage. He just runs around with it. I was nice enough to spend 5 hours with them getting to Atheon but they gave up in the end. *sigh* I'm not going to lead a new team any more unless I have half a day to spare, which I didn't last night but I was trying to be nice about it and not abandon them.

 

If you're not familiar with MMOs/grind-for-gear games, I wouldn't recommend Destiny. I'm enjoying it, but mostly because I play with friends. It gets boring otherwise TBH. The game needs more content (Activision wants this game to last for 10 years) and if you play it for the story, you'll be disappointed. The main writer for the game left the company less than a year before release....

Think Diablo + Borderlands. Sorta.

^ Yes you can. Your progressed is tied to your PSN.

But I do find that I don't enjoy it on the PS3 because the graphics and gameplay just seems so much smoother on the PS4.

This is pretty much what I feared. I'm no stranger to MMOs, heck I still play WoW (just mostly with a few friends and we're usually in the same room half drunk). I still play Diablo from time to time and just got Watch_Dogs for the PC. Haven't even started it yet.

 

Well gameplay is nothing like Diablo... Gameplay is like Borderlands, but the MMO aspect of Diablo is there.

I enjoy halo, so I can just play crucible constantly. The story aspect with the FPS gameplay is fun because you can team up with your friends against large bosses for better loot and weapons to use and wear in the crucible (multiplayer).

 

I would definitely hold out for now. The game isn't as compelling as I hoped it would be. It's not even an MMO really, the game worlds seem very sorta empty at the moment. The main town has 10-15 people in it at a time tops, and usually it's more like 5-10.

The game is polished. All the shooting mechanics and controls feel fluid. But the world itself seems small. If it weren't for PvP, this game would be dead in the water for me

I dumped a ton of time into Halo and CoD multiplayer... but to me, both Borderlands and the slower Mass Effect 3 PvE seem to have more staying power than Destiny.

If they keep pumping out content like the Queen's Wrath, maybe. But even that update was lackluster. If you can, wait 6-12 mos and see where the state of the game is at. If none of us are still playing... well...

 

I agree with waiting a few months. Right now there's very little content. My buddies are also hitting a plateau in the game now that they reached level 28 as well. We used to be motivated every damn night going to sleep at 1 - 2 in the morning because we wanted that new stuff. Now there's just not much left to be excited about any more.

Looked up the Ice Breaker's specs while on break here.
Wow. Ammo replenishes itself and missed shots have a chance to reload immediately. That is pretty sick.

 

Did the queens wrath a 5th time with my buddy now at 22. It put us on the same missions I had beat twice alone for the queen... was worried I may get the same armor piece again and I was right. Now been awarded the same chest piece 3 times and the queens helmet once. Id really like to win some queens guantlets or even the warlock bong which has no light. Hmmm.

 

Yeah, I'm pretty disappointed with her rewards.

 

I have one more bounty for her I told my buddy I'd help him complete once he's 22-23. I'll make sure we go to either Venus or Mars and hope for something new.

Imy not very good with crucible bounties but vanguard bounties are cake so I'm working on that to buy vanguard armor verse crucible gear.

 

I believe it's chest and helm only from the Queen's mission.

 

I was thinking that last week after I first did her missions and got the same chest piece... I posted this..
In that picture it shows one of each armor pieces and some weapons all Queens Wrathed out. Online people are have talked about some gauntlets and a sniper so I assume others have won other gear.


Realized yesterday I had 14 strange coins. Was tired of my rare gauntlets and really wanted to go up a level. So I found Xur, this weekend he is located behind the Crucible Vendors to the right of the 3 main vendors in the lower middle room.
Picked up the exotic SunBreakers.


Sadly, while viewing the character on Bungies site the sunbreakers dont glow.

Sadly, I really wanted the Pulse Rifle Xur had with the bayonet. But didnt have near that many coins. Oh well. Im very happy going up to 27 and getting my first exotic armor. Had I got the rifle it would have replaced the exotic sniper I got during the week which I absolutely love.

Before secondary armor spawns in the crucible I switch to the sniper and let one bullet load since the gun cant be reloaded and instead reloads itself by charging shots up to 6 total. Once I have the first bullet generated I can swap back to my rifle and watch my sniper magazine slowly fill up. Maybe 5 seconds per round to charge.

I never need to worry about ammo again.
