Pretty cool game.
Started as an Awoken Warlock for my first go.
Next I'll be a robot.... maybe stealth.

This game is much better with friends. I played a mission by myself and it was waaaay stressful. Too many enemies to pick off and was always running out of ammo.

Hmmm. I went the first 6 levels alone... so I'd you're talking lvl 10 it may be different.
I'm a warlock and had no issues with ammo. I always have 300rnds ready.
I was enjoying playing solo then random events would get me involved with other players.
My long time friend that goes back to the halo clan days started playing so I'll be doing a lot more Co op but I really enjoyed footin it alone.

Wow you guys must be better than me at console FPS then cause I'm not that great, haha. I have 5 other friends playing Destiny and we all have mics so it was a lot of fun talking smack on each other and communicating strategies during story and strike missions (and I always have the lowest kill count ). I guess that's why I didn't enjoy it as much when I was solo-ing the story missions.

I must be the bullet fairy. I never run out. Rocking a Pulse Rifle as my primary which eats through ammo. Sniper as my second which only holds 11 rounds currently, and just picked up a machine gun, which is now my back up against captains and knights.

I love the grenades, void grenades are sick. Also the Warlocks melee that draws energy for more nades is super sick.

Wait until you fight Phogoth. At least with an auto rifle, I ran dry a few times. Stressful even with three people.

Haha for sure.
I just started over. I always do that with games. Once I get a feel I start over as to spend my beginning money or skill point better.
Got to 7 before starting. I like the warlock though for sure. Next play through will be the hunter.

Just wait till you unlock the Sunsinger subclass for the Warlock. Throwing mini-suns everywhere!

Fuuuuuuuuu. That's one of my Bounties. Looks like I'll be ranking up some more.

Thoroughly enjoying the game though. I currently have a level 10 Hunter, 13 Titan and I just made a Warlock last night so if I want to use that I'm already past the BS intro mission.

Just finished my first strike. I was 7. One guy helped the entire time. Level 8. A level 12 started helping with prime.
That was haaaard. God damn. Took forever. Could not do that alone.

Just wait till you unlock the Weekly Strikes, those are near impossible. Me and my clanmates tried it 5 times but only finished it once. And it took 2 hours to do it!

Omg 2 hours!?! I believe my buddies and I took an hour on Phogoth.

I reached Light Level 22 over the weekend. Excited to complete all of my Bladedancer abilities so I can finally have some advantage in Crucible. Need those legendary gears. Man wish you were on PS3 so we can do those missions! When my friends aren't on I'm doing pure Crucible. I get anxiety doing a mission on my own, haha.

Phogoth was tough as shit (like those have mentioned). The toughest (normal) Strike out of all the worlds in my opinion. The reason why it's tough is because of the multiple wizards. The boss has ridiculous high health but maaan, the wizards are what makes it so tough. My fire team's strategy was two person take care of the minions while one take care of the boss (and also to distract the boss from the other two). After the minions are all defeated then we all aim for the boss. You just have to grind it out and be patient and consistent. It took a long time. We had a huge sigh of relief after.

Wizards are pretty easy to me imo. Having the sniper rifle makes quick work of them. but i hear ya on that one. the devil lair mission, i had some random people come help on that one. in which both of them were pretty incompetent.

I agree that sniper rifles takes out wizards with ease.......but not when there's 4 wizards floating around plus the chance of Phogoth lazering you and knights coming towards you.

The reason for 2 hours was because there is no respawn timer, so you HAVE to be revived by your fireteam. Tons of running around and trying to stay alive during the waves and bosses.

lol I decided to get it for the X1 because I had more friends playing it on there.

Bladedancer super is SO OP in Crucible. I just run away as fast as I can when I see the person's animation.

Buahaha, that's what my friends who are Titan and Warlock says as well. You almost can't run when you're like 10 meters away from the Arc Blade since that ability dives at you so quick. I can take out like 4 guys since every time I kill someone with Arc Blade, my super duration replenishes.

I haven't had the chance to try it, but does a point blank shotgun blast take care of a bladedancer? Would be like sword vs. shotgun in Halo. They're easy to kill out in the open, anyway.

It's doable to one shot a Bladedancer with shotgun since Hunters have really weak armor. But the thing about Arc Blade is that we can zig zag coming towards you so it's going to be pretty difficult :p

Damn. Not sure if I'll be going near the crucible. But if you need to to get some better equipment then I may have to.

I have only done the first strike twice as I am waiting for my buddy to level up. I am lvl15 so far.

I am enjoying this game very much. I dont play a lot of MMOs. But I really like how this game is set up.

That is so far the only thing interesting me in the crucible.

So far the game doesnt seem to be getting great reviews.
Personally I think it is pretty good. Enjoying it far more than Diablo and it is already taking me longer to finish off the story.

The reviews I feel are right in saying the game takes a lot from many games without really focusing anywhere. But I feel this is good because the games they took from were too focused in those aspects.

Example.
They say Destiny cant hold a flame to the looting of Borderlands. This is correct and Im glad for it. Personally I felt burdened with so many weapons coming at me. I often felt like I may be selling better weapons. Because they focused so much on loot I felt the story lacked.

Halo, was so focused on story and shooting that it had no other aspect. No leveling and little customization when any.

Mass Effect was great, but the multiplier was completely apart from the main story. As it wasnt an MMO this is expected. I feel ME is the closest non MMO comparison to Destiny since you have an area of safety, Tower=Citadel, you have your ship to get from planet to planet, and missions start once youve chosen the designated planet.

Once you land, it goes into Halo mode with 1/3rd the borderlands looting.

As for looting, I feel it is the perfect amount to keep me entertained but still want better stuff.

I may not become in love with this game, but it is a sold 7 or 8 I'd say.
GTA and ME3 being 9s. GTA could be a 10 once heists are released and ME3 would be 10 if it had MMO based play involved to spice it up story mode.

You might start doing it more after the level 20 end game since there's nothing else to do. Although you can redo the missions on Very Hard level.

I can understand why it's getting bad reviews. For it to be one of the most expensive game ever made, it doesn't feel like it.

They are right that Destiny takes all of these elements from other games and packed it into one instead of innovating something different. I wish they could have done both because it really CAN get repetitive at times.

I also feel like there's not much to do in Destiny as there is in GTA 5. It's not the huge open world that I thought it would be when I was watching the many trailers that they showed.

For our homebase/tower, I wish there were more that we can do there. To me, it feels like just a menu screen but with the hassle of walking to the merchant. There's no social interaction whatsoever.

Beating the last mission on Mars was really anti-climatic. The end game cut scene didn't make me feel like I accomplished anything. I wished they spent the budget on better story writing.

But with all of the gripes that I have, it's damn fun to progress on my character and shoot it up on missions with friends.

Agreed on everything said.

I particularly like being in a mission with just my buddy. We may be on speeders headed toward an objective when a ship starts to land to mine ore or some shit. Suddenly an event starts and we join in with 4 other guardians are various levels. May have to revive a level 4 player while watching a lvl 20 use some move you havent unlocked yet.

Then once it's over everyone spawns their speeders and take off. I really enjoy that.

I also enjoy that people cant PvP me whenever they want.

My gripe is sometimes it seems like there are so few people in the specific area you are in. I wish it was more like the tower with the amount of traffic. Sort of like how Knights of the Old feels. But that can get laggy so I appreciate how smooth destiny seems to run.

I have a feeling Destiny uses the same session system as GTA where thousands of people are online, but you don't actually see them all because they're in a different session. So I believe Destiny wanted to display quality rather than quantity so you probably won't see hundreds of players at a time.

I believe they're doing that through their expansion packs: DLC - Destiny Wiki Guide - IGN

Yeah the DLC is supposed to be a full 20 bucks.

Which works for games like Skyrim but something with what seems like less content, DLC should come free like other MMOs.

If they dont come free then they cant force you to download meaning the on-line community is going to become split between people buying DLC and those not wishing to.
