I think it was meant to be......Last week most of my friends had enough Strange Coins to purchase their armor while I was short of 2 Strange Coins. I was bummed. I can't believe Xur is selling an auto rifle because that's the one item I always wanted.....and it just happens to be the strongest auto rifle in the game? You gotta be kidding me!

So I just got into work because I spent an hour playing the level 28 heroic strike with some randoms, got 9 Strange Coins, and bought that damn rifle. Feeling awesome right now

 

That AR that TSXy mentioned is great.

I had a lower level AR like that with the same upgrade (slower fire rate + higher damage when zoomed) and I sniped people across the map. I was reminded of that gun when I got sniped by it as well... with the right scope, it takes 3 shots IIRC. 2nd shot brings down your shields and sounds the warning tone, and before you can get to cover the 3rd shot puts you down.

 

So I was playing this on the PS4 last night and I must say, it's soooo much smoother. After playing for 3 hours on the PS4 and went back to the PS3, things looked really choppy. I actually performed much better in Crucible on the PS4 for some reason.

With that being said, anyone on the PS4? My PSN is cYnbios.

First World Destiny Problems..... I have 7 exotic weapons and can only use one at a time

 

I really excited for next week's patch, to be honest. Now there's actually motivation to play Vanguard and dailies/weeklys

I'm nowhere near as good as I was in Halo and CoD back in the days, but I can still hang. Usually play at night (PST)

 

Did a quick raid run tonight. Took us 1 hour 45 minutes.

I got raid set boots and chest.

 

I'm happy I was able to do the Queens wrath just now alone. Level 23. First legendary. Chest piece. Awesome.

I can run people from the beginning of the raid to the final boss in under 45 minutes (including getting the hidden loot chests), but the final boss always takes longer for people that have never done the raid before because you need everyone to get on the same page immediately and get into a groove to beat, especially teaching people how to communicate.

My friend just got his hands on Destiny last night, I think he played till about 5am, made it to level 12 lol, he's hardcore so hopefully we can tackle some raids or high up strikes soon.

Finished two queens wrath missions alone. Going to do a third today.
Two legendary pieces finally and level 24.

 

So far over the past 3 times Xur has showed up, the exotic armor he sells has been for 13 strange coins each. The weapons he sold for the first 2 weeks were 17 strange coins, but this week is 23 strange coins.

All his exotic armor engrams so far have been for 25 motes of light.

 

Where is he today? I heard he switches location each week.

 

He's in the very back of the lounge in the Tower. It's in the hangar area, but instead of going right/up the staircase for the shipwright and Future War Cult, you go down the stairs.

 

I won't even get to play until laaaate tonight but I wanna just drop everything and play now

I don't think I'm close to buying anything from Xur. I've been fine with the guns and armor I find without him though so I'll be saving up until word is he's got the best sniper or pulse rifle. Or maybe a helmet or chest piece. Im not an auto rifle fan. Though hearing it's a real low fire rate may make up for it.

Yeah, the game is still fun to me. I think the real test for me will be after I beat the raid on Hard mode.
Grinding for shards is the number one thing annoying my friends and I right now.

Jon, you realize that you can bump up the difficulty in the story missions, too right? I beat the final mission at the level 26 difficulty when I was 24 (got carried away in the Crucible and it jolted my levels up too fast).

 

I thought in Crucible all weapon damage is zeroed out like armor resistance and only perks travel over from PVE or PVP? So how can it be over powered??

And yeah I know you can add difficulty to the story but its a different kind of difficulty in my opinion. Like Halo going from Heroic to Legendary wasnt fun for me.
I enjoy a good challenge, but not when the challenge is simply enemy shields at 200% and they get all head shots. I prefer games that have no difficulty levels and are just a challenge based on the gameplay verse making the bad guys perfect aim with a ton of shield.

So that being said, Im loving Crucible, it's a challenge not because the opponents have crazy shields or weapons, but because the skill level is completely different and based on tactics verse just bruting through waves of PVE with mega shielding.

 

I did some readong about the mythoclast. A lot of people online are hating on it. Saying it breaks the normalize system bungie set in the crucible.

Next week they are going to release a Iron Banner mode which is crucible with all your gear at peak performance. Im thinking in normal crucible the Mythoclast will get nerfed and to stop the complains about that bungie will tell the mythoclast wielders to go in the Iron Banner mode if they want to rape.

The article I read explains this gun is OP because its a primary not secondary, and the rate of fire and such is like a scout rifle with fusion rifle elemental damage. I never liked fusion rifles so Im interested to see how this one would handle.


Also pretty annoyed at this Queens Wrath bs. Ive beat her missions 4 times now. Twice was the same shrine missions, the other 2 were different missions yet ive received 3 of the same legendary chest pieces and 1 helmet. WHAT GIVES!! Such a waste of two legendaries.
Also found a legendary in crucible. Engram turned blue. GAAAAHH!! Ive got another legendary engram I wont decode until the patch fixes the decoding. Grrr.

 

You should break down that purple engram because even bungie said all purple engram saved before the patch will turn blue. BUT, I've saved up 26 blue engram's so far because the next patch gives an increase on blue engram in becoming legendary.

 

So wait wait wait.... All pre patch purples will be downgraded automaticaly but your blues wont? WTF

Nooooooow I know why it took the first team so long and with so many deaths to complete Vault of Glass. The damn puzzles are what kills you, not the enemy. For a team that has never done it before, you spend about 80% of the time figuring out the puzzle than fighting off the enemy. After my team figured it out (psh, after like 10 deaths on each puzzle), it became extremely easy.

Any ways, beat VoG, only got shader and Ascendant shards. Oh well. It was a good experience.

 

Was it on hard difficulty? And what is the amount of players?? 6?

Finally got a team of 3-4 good players.

I'm 25 now. Should hit 26 tonight once I upgrade the armor I have. Three legendaries finally. All armor. Nothing special just two Queens Guards pieces and something I won in the crucible that actually decoded purple. I was shocked.

So far we have a Hunter lvl 19, another Warlock at 15 that started Saturday, and a Titan lvl 22.

I wish we had another hunter since they wreak havoc but oh well.

Edit: Im wondering if saving blue engrams is even worth it. Bungie said this patch update will work on engrams DROPPED after the patch. Not decoded. If their wording is correct than any saved blues will be subject to the same decoding of prepatch.

 

It was normal difficulty with 6 people. You really need 6.

Congrats! How long did you guys take, and did you use an online guide?

You didn't get all 4 loot chests in there? And got nothing from the bosses as well?

You can run the raid once a week per character to get raid gear loot.

 

The team I was with had pretty low experience of the level so we only got the 2 obvious chests and for me, it was just shards and energy while some had legendaries and exotics

I believe it took us 8 hours over two days because one guy knew what to do up to Atheon. But we were still figuring out what the hell the leader was talking about so it took us many tries.

Yea I read up on online guides but some of these people who writes the guide acts like the reader should already know about the level. Some people are just not meant to write. For example, the guide tells you to cleanse, but doesn't tell you why you need to cleanse and the effects of not getting cleanse. It's ridiculous how writers don't put themselves in the shoes of someone who has never seen the level. So for me, I had to just experience it for myself, then as we were planning in orbit, I re-read the guide and finally understand.

Oh, and Atheon dropped shards and chatterwhite for me

Wait wait wait, was I supposed to be guaranteed a Raid gear? Because after we beat Atheon, we didn't get a completion screen. The timer just goes down to 0 and that's it. We were all just hanging out with the timer at 0 waiting for something to happen. Then someone researched it and said it's a bug and that's "normal".

But......were we supposed to be guaranteed a raid gear? Because we didn't get squat after beating Atheon.

EDIT: Just read Bungie's site. You are not guaranteed a Raid gear. Just a chance at it. Well, I'll give it another wack this week.

 

I just tried to run a team of level 25s with me as 28 through VoG and we got to the final phase of Atheon, but failed miserably!

I knew we weren't going to beat it, but just wanted to see how far I could carry all of them on my back.
