.This is the 2nd time I've seen this thing ... my first impression of it driving up was:
- Why is it so quiet ... is it electric? Every El Camino I've seen makes some kind of noise.
- Wait ... why does it have 5 lugs ...
- Wait ... why does it have V-Sport brakes ... did he swap the whole spindle / suspension setup?
- Wait ... it's interior swapped.
Then, the lightbulb came on.
He literally dropped an El Camino body on top of a CTS V-Sport chassis. He even retained all of the parking sensors too
.Best part? No smog on it ... it still identifies as a late 60s El Camino

^ That one was only the 2nd or 3rd I've seen in person and the first up close. It was polarizing in that dark blue.

My son bought a Mister 2 Turbo and quickly decided it was a good car to kill himself in. He gave it a mechanical once-over and sold it for a tidy profit.

For me, I always liked the 1G MR2. Test drove one years ago with a 20V Silvertop engine swap. Sounded great & the owner claimed it would rev to around 10k RPM, I declined to push it that hard, but ran it up around 8k a few times.

My brother had an SW20 Turbo long, long ago. That car was what really sold me on small, maneuverable sports cars. Absolute blast to drive.
Scary, too. I didn't wanna push it that hard but my brother definitely had a code brown once, going too fast on a cloverleaf.

They're all getting harder & harder to find. I can't recall the last time I saw a clean AW11. SW20s are slightly easier to find, but mostly N/As.

Yeah, my son went from the turbo Mr. Two after one too many Code Brown events to a turbocharged Flyin' Miata (NA) where he did his own build. The two cars had very similar acceleration, but the NA Miata would leave Mr. Two in the dust when carving the canyons in the California mountains, and having exactly zero Code Brown events was the icing on the cake.

At the NHRA Spring Nationals yesterday. Apart from the orgy of HP & Nitro, this was probably the best sounding car of the day, along with the I4 drag bikes. Straight 6 & ran 9s.
