Burning Brakes
A Taycan 4 I saw on my way home. It was sitting perfectly in nice lighting so I had to get the camera out.

Spyder looks better than the Porsche speedster.

I don't quite get the appeal of the Spyder. Couldn't they have done like a manual soft top Boxster with like the engine and whatever other upgrades the Spyder gives? Seems like a pita
Three Wheelin'
Oh you mean do a power convertible vs all the faf involved with the manual roof?
If I didn’t know any better, I would think you’re questioning the German engineers… jk
yeah, I mean that seems pretty pointless, not sure how much weight that’s saving, but agreed, I’d take the extra weight for the convenience. I do prefer the roof up look of the Spyder over the Boxter though.
to answer your question, I’m sure they could have done what you said, they could have also jammed the gt3 engine with a manual gearbox in there too probably. But that would really step on the toes of 911 owners, and we have brittle egos

Whats up with RDX owners?

someone correct me if I’m wrong, but the boxter GTS and the spyder are fairly close, except the GTS doesn’t have the adjustable suspension the GT4 and the spyder has. Also, I think the spyder has more aggressive looks and aero.

I'd be down for a manual soft-top Boxster. Can't be harder than the soft top on the Midget, which takes a couple minutes to fold/unfold.

i suppose it’s all relative regarding convenience of a folding roof.
That reminds me, this weekend driving home, most of the drive was sunny and dry, but there was 1 short patch of heavy rain. Going the opposite direction as I came out of the heavy rain, but still some droplets coming down, there was a mustang and a sebring in the median quickly putting their roofs back up.

I think if traffic is allowing enough forward motion, I'd suffer through it & hope the car design would keep most of the rain out. Unless there was a convenient overpass to park under to raise the roof.
IIRC, Mini advertised that when the Cooper convertible came out, that rain wouldn't come in the car if going over x MPH. I'm sure there's a GPM limit to that with all open roof cars, though.

Spyder is completely covered.
Speedster roof is also completely covered when down. And it is fully automatic. So it is possible. But the rear deck area is huge.
Spyder looks better to my eyes.

Speedster roof operation is definitely not automatic. The button just releases the little flaps at the back, the rear deck lit operation as well as pulling the roof back is manual.
spyder definitely looks better to me too, speedster has a hunchback look to me.

Speedster is partially automatic.
I was thinking targa where it is all auto and able to move that huge rear section and hide the little roof panel.

Just got back from a trip to San Diego with the family. I was surprised by the lack of exotics out there (a green Huracan pulled up to check in at our hotel but I didn't get a shot of it), so this is the best I could do. Legoland F40

Spotted this Raptor at the grocery store. Have seen a few on the road, not bad.
And a few from our little town's July 4 parade
Don't think I've ever seen a black C4 ZR1. All the ones I've ever seen were red.

I came across this Vette and talked to the owner. Unfortunately I should have taken a pic of the engine. He must be related to me because everything was operating-room clean.
The Corvette C6 and a Z06 on top of it, my favorite and best looking (to me) body style. I also like the 63-67 series Vette and a 70 Vette with the LT1 engine. The only downside is, I cannot stand the ultra-cheap interior on any of them, even the latest.
Absolutely gorgeous...

I thought the interior in the C8 is pretty good for what it is and how much it costs. The C5, C6, and C7 were horrid though.

Just about any E39

The Jag is noteworthy too, IMO

Also so glad it was actually an M5, I was dreading as I saw the rear that it might be a 530 or 540 with M5 wheels.

this was the pace car at a local bike race today (it was an event sponsored by Vancouver Porsche among other businesses)

Spotted a Grenadier at Costco last night. Much bigger than I thought it would be. Definitely bigger than a G-Wagen or even a LWB Defender.

He got on it a bit after the light. Voodoo
The wheels were almost definitely aftermarket, didn't get a great look.
