So the house we're buying has 2, 2-car garages...

I still can't get over how much the price has frozen on these things. I've yet to find a 06+ S2k with less than 60k miles for under $20k. KBB pricing says they should be $18k on a dealer lot.

Opps... I botched the mileage on KBB. I guess they are over $22k. Crazy. They weren't that much when I got mine.

You shouldnt have sold your S2K Steve!

I still have mine, even though I don't drive it often enough - it puts a huge smile on my face whenever I do!

That's crazy. I just looked on KBB. It says my 2002 S2000 with onlt 25k miles should be $22k at the dealer and $20k private party. Either is thousands more than I paid for it.

Maybe I should sell. *kicks self* Nuh-uh.....

Dude tell me about it. I regret it all the time. But I still drive a ton and as much as I love the S2K, 15 months of daily driver duty was enough.

My truck is really really awesome though

Wife is now putting the screws on me to sell the S2000!

I store the S2000 offsite during the winter because I have three cars and only a two car garage. This makes my life easier since I don't have to scrape the ice off her windows during the winter.

It is now time to bring "the little guy" home for the season.

Wife is insisting on not giving up her parking space. Unfortunately, I have two cars that gather unwanted attention in the neighborhood when they are out, and so they must be garaged. No one wants an old Pilot, so her car stays outside during warm season.

Now she's throwing out hints as to why I should sell. Of course, not happening.

I lose many disagreements at home in the name of marital bliss, but this one I generally win as she hates theft of property more than she hates my S2000.

Sounds like it's time for a garage addition....I am now wondering how much for a one-car addition, maybe with enough room for a two-post lift. Hmmmmm....

Anyone else pulling their S out of storage yet?

Two car garage, three cars. I told my wife to deal with it.

A different question for you guys, because I WILL be keeping the S2000.

I want a new stereo for it this year. I need one with Bluetooth so I can use my phone handsfree, and that is XM-compatible because I'm tired of my jerry-rigged solution in the center console. Looking at a couple of Alpine models as it's easy to buy a harness for one of those to fit the S2000's stock radio controls, but none of the models I've seen has both Bluetooth AND XM-compatibility.

Thanks!

Do you have an iPhone? Do you still listen to CDs?

If the answers are "yes" and "no" I like this one: http://store.sony.com/webapp/wcs/sto...52921666372151

I had it in my S2000 with the modifry harness and it worked really well. The steering wheel controls handled Pandora, etc from my phone.

I haven't been in the market lately but this Alpine looks like it suits your needs too:

Thanks mrsteve!

Answers are "yes" and "what's a CD?"

I'm almost sold on that Sony you mentioned. I can get the Sony on eBay for a bit less than $150, so not costly at all! I'd have to add Sony's XM solution.

The new Alpine comes with everything and I can get it for less than $200.

I think either one would work.

Thanks again!

Bob,

I got exactly what you want and it's installed in my S2000

It also works with the modifry control unit, so the audio controls to the left continue to work!

Amazon.com: Kenwood KDC-BT952HD Single-DIN In-Dash CD Receiver with Bluetooth: Car Electronics Amazon.com: Kenwood KDC-BT952HD Single-DIN In-Dash CD Receiver with Bluetooth: Car Electronics

It has XM, USB (i have the cable come out the passenger footwell and the USB stick is in the net), HD radio, bluetooth audio, bluetooth calling (comes with the mic)

Buy this for the XM unit and antenna:

Amazon.com: SiriusXM SXV200v1 Connect Vehicle Tuner for SiriusXM-Ready Car Stereo Receivers: Electronics Amazon.com: SiriusXM SXV200v1 Connect Vehicle Tuner for SiriusXM-Ready Car Stereo Receivers: Electronics

You're under $300 and the sound is excellent, very tune-able and you can actually make/hear calls if you're going under 50 mph Also, the colors can be changed. I got them to match the rest of the interior 'reddish' illumination scheme.

I have my XM antenna on the windshield hoop, driver's side by the roof latch. The wire goes down into there through the A pillar.

My XM antenna is currently in the center of the dash, next to the windshield. Your location seems good as well. Looking at those Kenwoods as well. Thanks again!

So far this is the only mod planned for the little guy this year.

I've been getting the itch for a toy/new car recently. I found a 2004 with 19500 miles. Seller is asking $17900, is this a good deal? I am not in a rush to pick up a second car but If I get a deal I can't refuse I will take it.

As some of you may know, the S2000 in the US and Canada has black vinyl covering the windshield hoop. I took that off today and waxed the paint underneath.

Don't worry, I washed the rest after and drove off into the 70 degree weather

Much better. The 08 09 came without the tape and I really like the color matched look.

Newest upgrade 17x9 square setup with 255/40-17 Nitto NT01 for the track should be in and mounted next week.

Hoping to get suspension installed soon AST 4150 if they ever get production going and have them in the states.

Funny...the Miata guys put vinyl on their windshield headers to black them out. Grass is always greener, I suppose! Looks good!

What'd you get? I always liked the 6ULRs on S's...I don't think they make them anymore though.

You're going to love your ASTs. Best mod I've done to mine.

Yeah, my wife says it looks 'worse' with the top up. But guess what? I have a TSX wagon for 'top up' weather.

Got the TR3 tirerack specials as this set will be track and autox only. Cheap, Look OK, and lighter than the stockies.

which ASTs do you have on your MX5?

What rates, Marble? Do you autocross? STR car?

I've heard the MX5 needs stiffer sways. You replace those?

300f/175r. They sound crazy low, but its a sporty ride.

Sways were the first thing I changed. I should have taken a picture of the Hotchkis vs stock, because it was hilarious. The rear stock sway is the thickness of maybe 2 pencils. I dont the exact figures but the front bar alone is almost 13mm thicker at around 32mm and about 1000% stiffer.

Ive never autox'd and only done 2 open track days. I built the car to be able to go to the track and have no problem, but it sees more highway than track. The suspension setup is identical to Chris Robbins' CSP Miata in 2011.

I have ur front bar to go on the rear of my car, though I'm probably going to leave it disconnected most of the time. It's pretty thin, only 1/3 the stiffness of my S2000's stock rear bar

Thats insane. Such a tiny car to have such big bars.

I bet it's fun in the corners. They are so much more fun stock than a Miata.

I'm sitting here at Jay Honda right now. I picked a wonderful day to have my S in for its yearly service (oil change, diff fluid change). After temps in the 70's this week, it's only in the 30's and snowing lightly. It was completely dry when I got here.

Oh well.....
