Yep, highly recommend the flashpro !
I got it for the wife's CR-Z as well.

For the 06+AP2 the Gernby midpipe (S2Ki) is the best TQ improvement you will see. The drone is minimized (almost eliminated) and the remapping Gernby does is awesome.
I have it with the stock catback components and the sound and moreso the performance is amazing.
+1 for Flashpro and excellent components

Also the Gernby pipe moves the location of the cat, so it's illegal for STR, so I can't get that either

Good luck either way.

I think STR has an acceptable area of movement (with in X ofthe original location), but not having a DBW limits the tuning options, but you ought to PM him on S2Ki. If you are tuned on another system I would assume you could still utilize what the Gernpipe can provide in benefits. He addressed the STR legality in one of his threads.
Good luck either way.

Depends what you want the car for, yes the AP1 revs higher but for around town driving its harder to enjoy because it has less low end torque. From a modding stand point maybe the DBW is less attractive, but from a driving perspective its not detectable, it was very well implemented. Unless your planning on going with FI, basing the purchase on mods is foolish. AP1's all have the same 16" wheels, there are a few different 17" wheels that were used on AP2's - there must have been some alignment change because AP1's are more known to chew through tires then AP2's. I can easily see liking both, but for different reasons, if it was a weekend/nice weather car I would probably lean towards an early(tail happy) AP1. As my only car I would want 06+, even though they have made the car more neutral over the years its still very sketchy at its limit and VSA can be a life saver in cold or wet weather.
AP1
pros:
-9k redline
-more "pure" of a drivers car, more tail happy
-easier and cheaper to mod, but still not much for easy gains
cons:
-early AP1's are very tail happy
-dated, cramped interior
-less attractive headlights
AP2
pros:
-more usable power for driving around town
-updated interior
-more balanced, neutral handling
cons:
-8k redline

I completely agree. I own a 2002 s2k and I love it when i want to have fun, but when im driving it around town, in the rain, or on the highway it can get tiresome and scary at times. I have also noticed that i do go through tires (i dont beat on the car), but normal wear on my tires have only lasted me 3 summers of driving. The reason i bought a 2002 over a 2004 was strictly because of the 9k redline. Regrettably i have learned its easier to bend valves at that high of an rpm. My friend owns an AP2 and his seems much more manageable on the highway and in the rain (still can be scary).

Advanced
DBW = FlashPro, which is the single greatest pro out of anything listed imo.

It's ALL About tires and the S2000 is especially sensitive to changes. I have Toyo Proxes 4S, basically a high performance all season tire. I have plenty of grip, rain traction and a smooth ride (for an S2000)

I'm stuck getting Greddy eManage, which will still be good but is way harder to deal with than flashpro.

Your car looks amazing.

Nice stance on the car.
I am looking to replicate as I just got some AST 4150's on the way form an owner selling his low mile S in the OC. An 07 with 13K miles. He offloaded the suspension for ridiculous cheap.
So hoping to get that same nice stance, with some handling benefits.

04' S2000 with 103,000 miles.
Car looks good (few dings here and there), top is in decent shape with no rips or tears. Has all service records with it and has no modifications. Interior looks good, too.
He's asking $13,900 .. do you think $13,000 would be fair? What would you offer him?

For an 04 with 103K I wouldn't go any higher than 12500 and would offer 12000.

Congrats! The S in BB is so gorgeous. Enjoy in good health, and by that I mean put tires with decent tread on the rear.
In fact, enjoy for both of us.....as my S2000 has been in storage for over a month and will be until late March.

TLDude876 BB is beautiful, but take care of it.
And the tires suggestion is the first bit of money to spend followed shortly thereafter by some money invested in driver training (HPDE and the like). The RWD light roadster is light years from the FWD TL.
See you on S2Ki

^Thanks guys. I'll try to get some pics up soon. The front tires are brand new and the rear tires are near new so those should last me a while. It came with side strakes and I have the OE front lip on order. Next in order is a complete detail/paint correction job.

Different tools for different tasks.
I do admit, I drove the S far less than usual this year because of the 6MT V wagon. I actually thought about selling it.....then thought better of it. I'd only pine for it if I got rid of it. Of course, for the right price......

It is the base OEM wing. I am normally not a fan of wings but I really like this one for some reason. So far I have changed all the fluids and I have some spark plugs ready to throw in.
