Yes taxes suck... i still have to pay sales tax and other bullshit taxes with the little left over from being single

I can't speak for others. but mine has been flawless for the past 34k miles.
If you are planning to buy a used one, especially the one with M sport package. Make sure you know the Euro brake pads and tires dont last as long. So make sure you negotiate a good deal on the maintenance program and extended warranty unless you are planning to work on the car yourself.

btw my monthly day care (not food, diapers, etc) is 2500 / mo.
Fuck wit me.

That's not even that bad compared to other regions.

Dont you get tax credit for those? at least a portion of it? so it is not 2500/month.
I would rather invest it in my kids than giving my 40% income to the Trump Administration.

For how many kids?

Daycare out here depends. Newborn -2 you're looking anywhere from 12-1600 a kid.
2-5 you're looking at 8-1000.

You get a 10% discount for additional kids though.

Yeah, planning on getting a used 435GC M Sport. I'll keep the brakes and tires in mind (can be replaced with less fast wearing items) but the rest of it is what I'm worried about. I'll work on the car myself as much as I can but don't have as much time for the big stuff as I used to. Do you think an extended warranty beyond the CPO is worth it? I think I can extend the CPO to 6 years/unlimited and I planned on doing that but if I need a warranty for after that then I might look elsewhere as it would fall into unreliable POS territory.

My wife used to be the director of a preschool years ago.

Even with her connections from who she knows, when we had our first kid it was $1270 a month, normally $1450.

Thank god that I had every other Monday off and she had the Monday off that I worked and then we had our parents.

You only get deductions on a scale based on how much you make.
and even if you broke, the max is 3k for the first kid and 6k for any more than that.

That ain't ivy league fool.
Bright Horizons is an international chain, my monthly bill there would be 3200 / mo.
There are much more expensive joints around here.. and that's the McD's of child care.
I'm at some shit local greasy spoon.

In the City, 1 kid avg care is 2k. So a 100k ain't getting you far.
That's some minimum wage shit there.

Next time you want to bitch about being single no deductions ass.
Try some kids. Hope that relationship wit yo girl works out. You sleep 12 hours on Sat morning, that's nice.
Oh you aren't knee deep in shit. Got vomit on your work shirt (on your back, don't even know) ass.
That's a nice 4 series you got there, be terrible if I threw all my food and drinky drink in it. Here's some shit too.

Damn. I should write a business plan.

Move to Austin, set up a "preschool facility".

Dirty Mike and the Boys Kid Care™.

Charge only $1100 per kid.

Profit.

Just a big ranch with lots of acres. It'll be a bunch of goats that keep the children in line.

Anyways.. kids are expensive, but worth every bit.
I'm just counting the days to public school.
After school care is only half the cost.

Damn, I didn't know you had little little ones breh.....

I thought you had some grade school ones.

Kids are expensive, but are worth it, you're right.

My oldest had the stomach bug last week, I felt so bad for him. Then he gave it to my wife and then gave it to me. I still felt sad.

I've always wondered that. People having nicely modded 5 7 series M3's etc, posting on IG. Then you look at the area they live in and you're like WTF, why are there bars on your windows, doors, and around the property of your house.

I rather have a house over car. I mean look, I drive a shitty 4 cyl Accord and a V6 Explorer. But I live in one of the best areas in my city.

Generally speaking, F3x 3/4 series are pretty reliable. Some of the issues have been worked out since 2012/2013.
Since you said you want a 435, that means it is from 2014-2016. 6 year unlimited CPO will only get you up to 2022 or 4 years from today. 2020 if you get the 2014 MY.

Whether the ext. warranty is worth or not, it depends on how long you are planning to keep the car... If you are planning to keep it for another 10 years.... well yah... you will need it for ANY German car. The extended warranty is not needed because of reliability but the COST of repair.

But the cost of ext. warranty is negotiaable. Obviously dont pay full MSRP. I have seen ppl getting the $2k+ ext. warranty for $800.

Ah nice. At that income level def reasonable to buy cars like that on a semi regular basis, long as everything else is fairly reasonable and they're not going crazy spending/living a super lavish lifestyle. Just saw a news piece the other day about a NYC couple who pull in 250k and are living paycheck to paycheck....not having 2 kids in private school seems to help...

I'll be back to KC later this year so while I'll miss the great weather/food/nature of hawaii, will also be glad to be back at a much lower COL location.

I'm very fortunate to be in a higher than avg salary profession (down side is quite big school debt, should be paid off in next 3-4 years) but as many have said taxes suck and you're always wanting more. I'm gonna look into passive income/side business opportunities as well to generate cash flow while I sleep (maybe real estate....) and to help fund future toys

Them taxes hurt though. I paid about the median US income household salary in taxes last year....so now I can really see why some ppl really gripe about how our govt spends our money....

I don't want kids or to get married. Too introverted to want to deal with a wedding

Small ceremony, maybe. Lot of girls these days want to do it bigger and/or better than their friends' weddings. I know it's for the families and friends more than anything but man, I would rather spend that money towards the LS F-Sport than a wedding

But the area I'm in has family and friends. A couple of friends have the same idea on where to move, but family seems set here. My new job will get me paid more if property is higher, but I'm green at the moment and not getting much. Eventually...
