55-57 is what the RCF has been selling for (brand new) with all discounts. That is what the market will bear, as you clearly said.

The M4 Cabriolet at the BMW dealer is asking $91,000.

Yah the things is BMW will continue to ask for more as long as the market is willing to pay for it.

Just wait until the G30.... i will not be surprised to see a 100k M4 Cab. or a $90k Coupe.... Free market does have its weakness

This one seems to be close to me. If you are interested in pursuing it, I'd be happy to give it a once over seeing and report back as it's a used example.

Appreciate it. As you know the car is for the wife. We spent considerable time driving RCF and LC500. Local dealer has 8 LC and is offering $3,500 off sticker. However, wife just wasn't sold on the coupe. As I posted on the other thread, thus we looked at BMW Cabriolets and Benz Cabriolet. She has decided, and is ordering the C43 Amg with the Cranberry red interior. Wanted to do the Euro Delivery, but the dealers around here offering $7,500 off if I take US delivery (even on a special ordered car which will take 120 days to get here), vs only $4000 off for ED. So thats what it is for now.

That's crazy money for that car. I can't even imagine paying that for a M4.

Agreed.

Albeit if you want a vert, the M240i are great deals, and dealers are REALLY aggressive on them.

On a related note, Mercedes and VW also got raided yesterday i believe. Immunity my ass
I hope this will lead something good because these Germans are driving up the price of cars like us driving up housing market in LA.

October 20, 2017

BMW raided in cartel investigation as Daimler claims immunity

MUNICH/BRUSSELS (Reuters) - BMW’s (BMWG.DE) headquarters were raided by European Union officials investigating an alleged cartel among German carmakers, it said on Friday, as rival Daimler (DAIGn.DE) claimed whistleblower status in an effort to avoid fines.

EU staff had “conducted an inspection” at BMW’s Munich offices this week, the premium carmaker said in a statement, adding that it is “assisting the European Commission in its work”.

The EU’s Brussels executive said its antitrust officials had swooped unannounced on “a carmaker in Germany” on Monday Oct. 16 in the first confirmed raid related to allegations that several German automakers had engaged in an illegal cartel.

The competition watchdog said in July that it was investigating collusion among German carmakers in response to a tip-off after Der Spiegel magazine reported that Daimler, BMW, Volkswagen (VOWG_p.DE) and its Audi and Porsche arms conspired to fix prices in diesel and other technologies over decades.

“The BMW Group wishes to make clear the distinction between potential violations of antitrust law on the one hand and illegal manipulation of exhaust gas treatment on the other,” the company said. “The BMW Group has not been accused of the latter.”

Brussels has yet to initiate formal antitrust proceedings against any of the carmakers.

However, the allegations have begun to spawn U.S. lawsuits, adding to strains on an industry already struggling with the reputational fallout from widespread diesel emissions-test manipulation exposed in the wake of VW’s dieselgate scandal.

Daimler said on Friday that it had “filed an application for immunity from fines with the European Commission some time ago”, effectively claiming to have blown the whistle on what Chief Financial Officer Bodo Uebber described as “possible antitrust agreements” with rival manufacturers.

Daimler sees no need to set aside any funds for possible antitrust fines, Uebber added.

To gain immunity, the EU’s antitrust website says, a company that participated in a cartel must be the first to inform the Commission of an undetected cartel by providing sufficient information to justify inspections.

The Commission has declined to identify the original source of the tip-off, saying this is to avoid compromising its investigation.

“Daimler is cooperating with the Commission under its leniency programme,” an EU representative said on Friday.

Volkswagen could also benefit from leniency after sharing information, according to earlier reports. Even after an initial alert, other cartel participants can reduce EU fines -- by up to 50 percent for the first to step forward with material evidence.

VW offices have not been subject to EU raids in relation to the cartel investigation, a spokesman for the Wolfsburg-based car giant said on Friday, declining further comment.

As long as you're okay with having an open differential, the M240i is a good car for the money. Me personally? I would go straight to a pre-owned M.

I think M240i convertible probably cost the same or more than a well equipped M2.

Wife's car, not mine. She likely couldn't spell differential. She is tired of her WRX, and wants a convertible.

I just built an M2, $55,050 and that is 90% loaded car..not a lot of options available like M3/4.

I am sure you can't get the same discount as M240i Vert, but at $55k it is a lot of car in today's market.
I mean the widebody/wheels/brakes/diff are worth whatever the differences between these 2.... let alone engine, interior and suspension.

How aggressive are we talking? I'd get a coupe not a vert since I already have that part covered.

I shopped through the BMW dealer the other day looking at a 340i 6MT and it stickered at $63k, dealer offering it at $58k. I could not ever fathom spending that kind of money on a 3 series...so I promptly passed on it. Even a base stripper 340i 6MT is still in the mid $50k range. Back to searching for a hot hatch.

The M2 will likely not depreciate very much anytime in the near future.

.
first offer was $8,000 off
I posted the details couple of post above . Vert is for wife. She doesn’t drive my two seater verts. Needs one with back seat. After two weeks of searching it’s done, so she can finalize and submit build this weekend. Now I can concentrate on my wagon replacement t

i miss my 2010 ms3. But hot hatch days are behind me

For 2 series... 10% - 12% off MSRP is considered a good deal. Coupes are harder to negotiate and will have less discount than vert for obvious reasons.

You're not thinking clearly.

Get M2 for "her", she won't really like it .. then you get to drive it. #profit.

I would rather drive an M2 over anything else in BMW's lineup

I also don't do SUVs unless they're for redneck-type activities, but the X5M is too voluptuous to resist.

I just saw this offer sheet on Edmunds for a RC 300 F-Sport ... $350/mo + tax for 36/10K.

That's not bad at all. I've seen GTI Autobahn leases with those numbers (though with more miles per year).

It says $6,300 down. Is that eaten by the Excess Cash?

That's a $5000 lease cash from Lexus and I believe the acquisition cash, etc from the customer.

Yup. They can't give the RC away. Been like that since day one on all 4 RC models (200, 300 350, RCF)

LC lease just went down from $989 to $850 this morning locally.

Unless it's something different, that requires several thousand as a down payment at signing. I inquired about it when the lease special came out, but was told specifically it would conflict with my own benefits.

$6,000 discount on the LC here. Which is what they are using as "down payment"

Dealer has 9. Can't move them. Just read on CL, another dealer there has 11, and was offering $7,000 off msrp.

I didn't inquire further.

Ah, okay. I saw a store I believe up north called IRA that a similar discount on 3. We have 6-7, but no discounts available.

If his store is not giving discounts on LC, hardly doubt he will match what the local RCF discounts are

That store up in the north I believe sold the cheapest GSF in the USA recently. They give amazing discounts. Having said that, our CA discounts seem only second to the amazing discounts in Miami (generally speaking)
