General Car Talk Discussion Thread
Nice I used to go to the Mercedes ones back in the day. I'm going to a BMW event where you can drive a 428 or 328d apparently spirited with a pro in the car. Anyone go to this one? Srika, how'd you get the AM one? Was that strictly invite or can I register if it's coming here?
but my friend said its louder than you would expect a stock car to be. He said they got away with it by tuning the car in such a way that it will pass the noise inspections but still be loud when you get on it.
yeah, it's tough. I think the hallmark signs would be the ram air headlight and the sound. I have yet to hear one in person

Also has the lip spoiler as mentioned by Maj as well as the unique lower front air dam/lip.
The Charger is very much a full size sedan. She's a big angry bitch.
Caddy is 4145lbs and is 53/47 weight distribution (slightly improved over out-going gen). Charger is 4575lbs and is 57/43 weight distribution. Good thing the charger has a longer wheelbase.. sheesh.
The CTS really doesn't feel like a big body car. It's slightly longer than the 3G TL, but it's about the same everywhere else.

directly with the 5.
I normally do not like black inserts on front bumpers because it looks unfinished to me But on that Signal green M4, it looks decent.
Which one looks better? The painted body color front bumper on rest of the M4s or that signal green one?

Talking about the 5.. I rolled up on a sweet alpine F10 M5 last night. Nicely modded and distinctive.
He didn't want none..
To be fair this is a somewhat shitty dealer but this one will require patience.
I've been half serious about a hellcat charger. Went to my local dealer a few weeks ago to ask about pricing availability etc...said it's difficult to get unless you find a dealer that already has one in stock.

Closest comparison I can find below. The pleasure of driving a vehicle is subjective, but notice how the ZL1 wins in everything else other than the straight line. TBH, I know why he thinks the V is slow.. the V is super quiet. You could be going 150 and feel numb in certain senses that should tell you you're going way too fucking fast.
It's composed and fun and most of the time feels like it's on rails. I have gone sideways several times already though. Sometimes out of fucking nowhere, but it pulls back into compliance with little effort. I giggle when it breaks traction and kicks the tail out in 3rd.

Definitely black tie axe murderer. Hellcat is a fucking rampage. You don't even want to make eye contact with it sometimes.
Hory shet...BoostedJack can't drive! He
and he need driving lesson!

Latest LaFerrari Crash Is Worst Yet--Photo Update
and he need driving lesson! *gong sound*

The LaFerrari is—by any account—an exceptional, glorious incarnation of the automobile. But it's not an exception to one cruel fact of life—supercars are going to get wrecked. On that note, WreckedExotics has just received a new photo of Ferrari's latest halo car post-shunt, and the damage appears extensive.
While the first LaFerrari crash occurred in July of last year in Monaco, in that case everything appeared mostly cosmetic. The second incident—where the 950 horsepower rocket wound up stuffed into a ditch off southern France's Route Napoléon—saw some injury to the rear diffuser and bumper, but looked to be easily repairable.

Not so in this latest case.
Looking at the pictures, it's hard to find an area not marred by the—undoubtedly high-speed—crash, and the crazy angle of the rear wheel indicates the pricey powertrain probably didn't escape the encounter with the wall unscathed.
It’s now thought that the driver wasn’t a teen but rather 27-year-old Qin Fen, chairman of Shanghai Feirong Investment Co. The single-vehicle crash took place last Thursday on a wet stretch of road in Shanghai, China, and fortunately no one was injured.
According to Hong Kong-based news agency EJ Insight, Fen has a number of other exotics including a McLaren P1 and a Koenigsegg. With only 499 LaFerraris destined to be built, we're sure he'll do whatever it takes to get this one back in his collection.
