I'd honestly be happy with just a standard Raptor with a tune. No practical use for the 6x6 for me.
Even being the resident MBfanboi, I'd take a standard AMG G-wagen over the 6x6.

I have been seeing some 4x4 squared G wagens. But 6x6 is special

What's the point of the staggered rear wheels? I know nothing about truck logic.

What do you mean by staggered? I'm not seeing it - are they different widths?

More like the Ford Bro-Raptor. Just looks "cool" and I think that's about it for functionality. Not sure if it actually can use the DRW functionally like other actual work trucks.....

he means the 6x6.
we know that 4x4 is a 4 wheeled all wheel drive vehicle that can do amazing things in sand and rocks, but what does the extra 2 wheels do on the 6x6?

It's so you can take up six spots at the mall instead of just 4.

moar rugged!

if you had a competition for climbing over shit between the 4x4 and 6x6 - I would bet the 6x6 would get over more stuff without breaking / stopping - double the traction / grabbing power in back.

In theory I guess.

I'm sure future BroRaptor owners will be able to finally get over off-road obstacles that other types of 4x4s wouldn't be able to get over......

The G 6x6 is just obnoxiously big. Gimme a nice subtle G65 AMG in Iridium Silver.

lol yeah. I think they call them "Mall Crawlers" Or maybe Hotel/Street/Night Club crawlers.....

OTOH, that Audi post above just heart breaking. Wow. I briefly considered a S4 (I think it was a B7?) a couple of years ago and after reading about some of the potential timing chain guide issues and how much it would be to repair...I noped out of that real quick.

In theory, it would distribute the weight of whatever is in the bed over a larger area so you don't sink in the sand/mud/whatever.

In actuality, it will help you find your car in the parking lot better and that's about it.

Eh, I don't think it would actually make that much of a difference.

It probably wouldn't be any different at all. People just associate 6>4 so I should buy the 6.

Anything more than a 1989 Toyota Tercel is overkill for my daily life and needs, to be honest.

That was why I sold mine and I regretted it. But it wasn’t just timing chain guides. It ate control arms too. I miss mine a lot.

T.. the E60 M5 is one of the greatest vehicles ever created.
That V10 exhaust note is sublime.
Too bad it's racing heritage needs maintenance like a racing engine.
I was seriously in the game to buy one.

If you can find anyone who will put a third party warranty on one, now is a great time to get one.

They've been in the 20s for the past 5 years.
If the vanos oil pump fails or rod bearing fails.. they suggest just crating a new engine
New engine was 25k the last I checked.. probably more now.. definitely more than the car is worth.
I don't like any 3rd party companies, and I doubt any legit one would actually fork over the cash.
If they did, probably used engine swap at a shop of their liking.

Although I love it
I went with a blown LSA..
Super reliable, forgiving, parts are cheap... and tons of support.

I got in early on the 3rd party warranty for the E60 M5 when I bought mine in 2011; within less than a year, most of those companies were doing everything they could to get out of those warranties and weren't writing new ones. I'd be very surprised if any reputable firm offered a warranty for the E60 M5 at this point that was even remotely affordable.

My favorite post

I bought a 2006 M5 from Carmax several years ago. 19 days after purchase I was damn happy that I had purchased a premium CNA warranty as the SMG transmission basically grenaded. New clutch, clutch fork, SMG pump, bearings, fluid, flywheel etc.

A few weeks later a seat motor went south. Then the HVAC blower.

Then it steadily became worse....

One of the throttle body controllers went out.

6 months later, the other side went.

Then the engine began to drink oil like a CHAMP.

Internal oil pump grenaded. Engine destroyed.

Im sure I have missed about ten other issues I experienced with the car but these were the memorable items.

Over my 2.5 years of owning this beast, CNA paid $37K in repairs and parts. They told me that the warranty was null and void after the engine replacement.

As soon as the reman engine went in the car was sold.

I guess I'm a cheap bastard. I would be butthurt about having to source a used $3,000 engine, forget paying five digits for a crate motor. But I'm one of the few that are happy with 200 bhp.
