Hottest battle among automakers: Luxury under $50K
Rest of the story here: http://www.cnbc.com/id/101113572
My Editorial Comment - guess which marque has several cars priced right in the middle of this battle but doesn't have the models to actually compete? Yep, Acura. Way to go, Acura!
Looking to drive in luxury for less than $50,000? Right now may the best opportunity in years to get the model you want at the price you want. Thanks to a combination of aggressive lease deals and more choices for entry-level luxury, Mercedes, BMW, Lexus and Cadillac sales for less than $50,000 are soaring.
"The battle among luxury auto brands to capture buyers with models under $50,000 is the fiercest it's ever been," said Edmunds.com's Jessica Caldwell. "Look at all the models out there right now in that price range. They are all very good models, so there are more choices for first-time buyers."

To be fair, the TL and TSX are at the end of their model cycles. It'll be interesting to see what the TLX turns out to be, although I doubt many of us are holding our breath.
Well, to look at that fact critically, one has to wonder why two of the company's most important models in the lineup are becoming stale at the same time. Planning much, Acura?
I agree, but I'm sure they make up for it when both new models come out at the same time.
If the TSX truly is dying though, then it will no longer be an issue. ILX and TLX model changes should be far enough apart to keep the brand current (in theory).

My question was more rhetorical than not. I guess my post was something of a protest against the incursion of ads disguised as discussion threads. It's one thing to have a banner ad at the top of the page, it just strikes me as a different (and intrusive) animal to get down into the thread index like that.
