General Car Talk Discussion Thread
Inside Line picked up a focus st and i'm really liking that car now...
but i also love the frs...
its gonna be a couple years till i get a new car, i hope at least. But its like, do i go with practicality and go focus/gti or screw practicality and go frs... gonna be one heck of a decision! Dunno why i'm thinking about it right now haha

'Nother 5.0 came into work. Drove it for a bit, still fun as the others, but I'm not a Mustang guy, so that'll be the last of it. 2011 w/ 39K on the odo means it'll probably still go for $25,000+.
Waiting for another C6 Coupe to come in (client snatched up our last one before it even made it the used lot). Can't believe Z06s are still holding their damn value, & C6s with under 50,000 miles still fetching a hefty price.

And a quick edit on the 5.0, but it's a 2011 GT w/ 4,000 miles for $25.6K. So, if anyone wants a good deal on one, Park Place has it for now.
Chalk up the CLS63 to my AMG list. Couldn't imagine my excitement when I saw it was spec'd exactly how I'd want one; silver metallic, carbon fiber decklid spoiler, red calibers, carbon fiber goodies in the interior. And the sound. In the voice of Clarkson, it sounds like the God of Hellfire. A quick rev to around 5,000rpm & the exhaust crackles making its presence known in a sea of Lexi .
And it took serious restraint to not fully untap all 600lb-ft of torque in this button.

But in seriousness, it's a bad ass machine & just had a tiny bit of fun with it. Anymore & it would have been my last day.

One day. Might happen if I ever work for Lamborghini Dallas. Am looking into a valet/porter position at Ferrari but that's a huge shot in the dark.
As far as likeliness goes, I'm waiting for a 911 Turbo, SL65, S65, or any of the Black Series (long shot lol) to come through work. Couple 991s so far & a few SL & S-Class cars, but no AMGs. I'm amazed 1 of our clients still brings her Quattroporte S through once a month.

I thought the same thing. It had lights on the sun visors as well as in the grill and the headlights/taillights. No other markings on it. Had a regular license plate as well as dealer stickers on the tailgate.
The state police in MA have a few pick up trucks and even a van or two. I've only see the trucks doing highway details, but I have seen a van pulling someone over.
I know we've already moved past this topic, but the county cops near my new place drive unmarked G6s and Camrys. They run really short, stubby antennas near the factory XM antennas, so theyre very hard to spot.
Up in NY, some of the undercover cops would drive Evos and STIs to catch street racers. Further out in the Hamptons, there were a few that drove M5s. My friend was dumb enough to be racing one night out there in his STI. It was him, another car, and an M5. They did two runs, then the M5 threw on the lights and pulled him over. That was an expensive night.
I've also seen cops in Astro vans and Cherokees pulling people over.

I have no outside shot because well, how can you when there's 2 clients in our back lot looking at a vehicle? BUUUT, I do have a couple pics of a Bentley GTC a client brought in. Has a louder idle exhaust than I would have thought with some pretty thick rear tires as well. The interior is of course, pure luxury & very comfortable.

M5!?
