Somewhat on topic - remember how my shifter was all screwed up after the motor swap? Well I bought some bushings a few months ago thinking that was the issue. It wasn't. But in the process of replacing those, I found the real issue. It's where the shift rod connects to the shaft on the transmission, there is a joint there, and that is where the play is.

I would consider getting another boot. That cube shaped one that goes around the bottom of the lever. I did my shifter on a lift and I still literally ripped that boot a new asshole.
X is great! I have spent less in 18 months than I did in a week on the Z. (under 2k total maint. including probable unneeded PM I did just for peace of mind. Hows the Focus?
