Somewhat on topic - remember how my shifter was all screwed up after the motor swap? Well I bought some bushings a few months ago thinking that was the issue. It wasn't. But in the process of replacing those, I found the real issue. It's where the shift rod connects to the shaft on the transmission, there is a joint there, and that is where the play is.

Part...................Description................ ..................Price
SU00300882........DAMPER, SHIFT LEVER..................$3.86
SU00300895........SHAFT, CONTROL........................$52.09
SU00300897....... COLLAR (FOR CONTROL SHAFT).......$4.81
SU00300901........PIN (FOR SHIFT LEVER SHAFT).......$3.86

Total: $77.57 shipped

Now I just need to find the time to get under the car to replace it. It's going to be a pain to get to

Kinda like the short shift kit on the TL...a bigger ball to go into that socket connection to take away the extra play and throw. Nice, man...

Why you has so many issues bro? And your car too!

So what you're saying is...your shaft was a bit loose? Or was it your rod?

Correction - Penguin was down on me recently.

And I don't know why I have so many issues with this car; nor do I know why I like it so much given all the issues.

I would consider getting another boot. That cube shaped one that goes around the bottom of the lever. I did my shifter on a lift and I still literally ripped that boot a new asshole.

That boot is long gone. I tore it to pieces when I installed the shifter.

Besides, its not the joint that is covered by that boot, its the joint on the other end - no boot on that end.

Dude, watch out for wet roads in your RWD vehicle. You don't want to get sideways on accident

When Xuolu got the GT-R wrapped, it was at least 3k and they fucked it up. Sure it's hard to wrap certain sections, but it just wasn't great overall.

This. A reputable shop quote something around her in LA area.

Maybe because 86 and Miata are small?

Same here.

My plan with getting the Lexus wrapped (if I go that route) is to have the same guy that did the clear bra on the FR-S do it.

On the wagon?

It's so-so. Theres scuffs and scratches all over, most down to the primer. And I'm not a fan of silver.
