Long time no see!I say sell everything and 911. Or build the IS with a 2JZ!
I feel your pain on exploding motors... I went back and fourth trying to figure out what I wanted to do with the S14 after doing a top end rebuild, then finding out the motor grenaded and I needed a new motor. I would always have something in me said fuck it, sell the car with a blown motor, take a loss and move on. Then I looked at it as something I would collect. How often do you see a clean 240 with factory paint, all original panels, and mint interior? It's a unicorn. It felt wrong for me to sell it, and parting it was unfathomable. Ended up blueprinting a fully built motor, spending as much money as I paid for the 240... in the end I think I ended up making the right decision though. Still breaking in the new motor, then I need to spend some more money for a new ems and tune. Damn these expensive hobbies!!
the only thing worse than being slapped is not knowing you've been slapped until you watch the video. Seriously, I had no idea until he showed me the video on YouTube this afternoon

I just read about this in your thread too. A blown motor is always a shitty feeling.
You have more power though, so I'm jealous

At least you can drive your cars without worry of it getting stolen!! I am *supposed* to get more mpg (around 25) after the built motor... but nope, i'm at about 17... which is 2mpg better than when I had the blown motor, wtf!!!!
I just watched the slap video again
I also can't believe how slow my reaction was when he slapped me

LMAO, you don't even want to know what Tyler told me he did to you before he turned the camera on. Let's just say that you are DEFINITELY a "deep" sleeper.

I'm sure by now you realized that it's YOU we want updates from...we really don't care which car it is that you're tinkering with. Duh...because internet friends.

In that case, I cleaned up my beard today. My face feels better now.
In regards to the cars - I just can't make my mind up with the FR-S. I drove the wagon to work every day aside from Friday. I hopped in the FR-S Friday morning, hit the highway on-ramp near my house and couldn't wipe the smile off my face. It's such a fun car to drive, and it's nearly paid off, so part of me just wants to keep it.
Speaking of the FR-S, before the trip to Charlotte last weekend, I took the car in for an alignment. My camber up front was all screwed up:
Front Right Before: -.2*
Front Right After: -1.2* (per my request)
Front Left Before: +1.1*
Front Left After: -1.2* (per my request)
I have no idea why the alignment on the driver side was so screwed up. For some reason, the driver side camber plate is maxed out at -1.2* while the passenger side has about another degree in it. I'm unsure what the hell the issue is there, but it's something I need to look into. I've got the production lower mounts that I need to swap onto the coils since I'm still running the prototype mounts, so I'm wondering if the bolt holes on the driver side lower mount is a little "off".
Unfortunately my rear camber is still -2.5* as I haven't gotten any adjustable arms. I'd prefer the upper arms, but there seems to be nothing but lower arms available.
I also have a new part coming for the wagon. It should be here next Monday. It's nothing major, but it should update the exterior a bit.
This happened last Sunday:

here, I think it'll be hard to find something else that can replicate this, day in and day out. The Scion doesn't have to be the OCD/show car, it sounds like it's happy being nothing but a fun car to drive. The SportCross would be a great platform for something unique, if you plan to do that with it. With a drivetrain swap, it'd still be just as practical
But I hope you keep the FR-S also, since it doesn't seem like there's much else out there that's so easily enjoyable.
