I can't remember too much of the III (get it back in my hands, I would), not much difference really. Just get the camera before you have to shoot with it and play with it. Shouldn't be that much, but you will fall in love with a probody... you have been warned...

fail. Went into Boston....it was the busiest Ive ever seen it in all my travels through there. Traffic was insane, parking was impossible due to the volume of vehicles, and lack of spaces due to snow.

Back at home after not even taking a single shot

Just wondering. What does everyone use to clean their monitor? It appears that a few fingerprints aren't coming off (wifey-daughter) and wanted something that might handle this w/o doing harm. Any ideas?

Rubin, thanks....I think I'll live I had a few areas in mind that I knew would be desolate....down by the waterfront, but they had removed all the snow from the area already.

At least I saw a few places that I could try and hit again on a weeknight.

I have a monitor spray cleaner that I think I got at Staples, and wipe it with a microfibre towel

I use iKlear for my iMac and my Dell laptop and anything else with a screen for that matter. Does quite well at removing fingerprints. It's so-so at removing fingers.

http://www.amazon.com/Klear-Screen-i...N%3DB0023WU6OI

The also have products w/out the "i" in front of it.

Thanks for the info. Finger removal was considered, professional removal isn't cost effective and doing it at home would create a mess, and then I would have to remove blood spatter off my monitor, because they wouldn't stay still!

You can use smugmug for that.

Flickr will also let people order prints if you let them (check the account settings). But I think smugmug gives you a cut and flickr doesn't.

here

C.Fn I-4 and 5 allow you to change the bracketing sequence / auto cancellation rule
• C.Fn I-6 can be used to set the number of bracket shots (2, 3, 5, 7)
http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/cano...rkiv/page6.asp

so you can do up to 7!!

so they got me a 1DsMk3. I'm disappointed because I was really looking for a current generation camera. such as 1D4, 5D2, or 7D (and that was the order of my request). This camera is great but just doesn't handle the highlights like the current-gen cams do. Anyways, making the best of it.

Serious? Iirc the 1Ds3 is still supposed to have the best dynamic range even compared to the newer cams.

thanks for that. too bad I couldn't test it out for myself. because, I'm going by what I see, not numbers. I *feel* like I would have got better pictures from current gen cameras, just from having used a 7D and 5D2. I feel like those cameras (and the 1D4) capture highlights better. Maybe its just the subject matter thats making me shake my head.

here is an unedited shot -

you're right about the 5DII and mkIV, but thats just in dynamic range.

the 1DS3 still has the best color depth, but not by much.

It is more of a studio or landscape camera, now that you say that.
