stupid me.. i should have joined Smugmug a long time ago... this is great!

 

What's so great about it?
I looked into it a while back but it didn't seem like all that.

 

a) I love the design and look, its so clean and efficient. b) I joined because I am shooting an event tonight where people will want to do individual prints 4x6 or 5x7 whatever. And so I needed that option, and never had it on any of my other sites before. c) its very easy to upload photos, just drag and drop into the browser.

 

It's very good if you want to sell prints, if you want social networking as flickr does, it's not so much.

 

I think if you really want to get serious with photo, you need to have a presence at all the main sites. Flickr, Facebook, Smugmug, Deviantart, etc. each site has its own audience.

uploaded the original files. this is something I do NOT have on flickr, I have those as resized sharpened files. another good thing (I think?). I'm a n00b at this, I may have done this wrong. lol

 

ok I just corrected something, the default was set so you can view the original files. lol

no I had it so you could click the pic and choose Original size and it loads the photo at original size.

OK, I can see that, but it was more about the camera ability to focus on 12 faces than what the eye candy was about...

I just picked up a Tokina 11-16 from someone local, gonna play with it and see how I like it compared to my Sigma 10-20

 

so I setup my smugmug to use a custom hostname (rasidel.com) - all the instructions show how to set it up with a subdomain... so it would have to be www.rasidel.com or photos.rasidel.com or something like that. I want to be able to tell people just to go to rasidel.com and it'll take them to my page. does anyone know if that's possible with smugmug? thx in advance.

Really wanted an architectural type shot, but didn't want New York. Too unoriginal IMO. I like Chicago.

I wouldn't mind....but something tells me you can't print a 4'x15" for that....


The groupon I bought was for that size...$30 I think? Would cost $90 from them otherwise.
