Quote: TPE looks awesome but the one I posted allows you to actually view the scene through your camera so you can see exactly where the moon will be relative to local landmarks, buildings, hills/mountains, etc. It provides it line of sight as you see it from the ground (or wherever you are).

Also, it's free.
good clarifications, thanks!

I just really wanted to hold the phone up and see the scene in front of me with an overlay of the moon path.

TPE is MUCH more advanced (and I bought it for android, thanks!) but lacks the "streetview" view setting which makes it easier from a first person perspective to see where the moon will rise, etc.

Anyway, back to the original moon app, if anyone with an android wouldn't mind installing it and seeing of you actually get the trajectory imposed on the screen, I would appreciate it. The app works fine for me EXCEPT there is no display of the actual trajectory on my razrM....

Yes, that free app, yes if you're where you want to be at that time of day.

Man. I can barely use flickr now and It's probably mostly my fault.

I have probably tagged or named less than 5 percent of the photos I've uploaded. I used to navigate my library by where I remembered the photo was in relation to events. Now with the never ending scroll thing I can't get to anything quickly.

So I guess I'll just go through and name everything...

This may or may not help you but, if you click "Edit" on the above bar, it takes you to the old view of photos. That's the view I usually use, I just replaced the shortcut I had with that Edit shortcut and its working nice. I also like it because it shows you views, favorites and comments without having to click anything.

Even though I name and tag images on flickr. I only really remember how to find them by setting the in sets.

Trey Ratcliffe slams Nikon, switches permanently to Sony

it's funny because I have consistently been noticing that his recent shots from the NEX-7 look *WAY* better than what he's doing with his D800...

http://www.stuckincustoms.com/2013/0...view-nikon-vs/

he also posted this on their facebook (Nikon deleted the comment)

Interesting...because in reading that guy's site...he doesn't slam Nikon at all. He states his use, needs and reasons. And even leaves the door open for potential return or switch to another system in the future. So, good for him.

As for his reply to Nikon's facebook post...Nikon's facebook postings are asinine about 95% of time with dumb questions.

You're like fucking TMZ with the way you're trying to present this.

There's actually a new toolbar that just got rolled out. It's purple and has links to news, games, etc. Basically a Yahoo ad.

The big gray toolbar has been there since the facelift, though - but that's different in that it's a flickr navigation toolbar.

I would rather have continued paying $25 to not have all this little crap. I dont care about 1TB, I was paying for a pro account.

It looks like garbage.

My issue is that the banners on azine scroll up with the rest of the page. All the yahoo and flickr stuff doesn't unless you go to fullscreen. It's fine on my 27" monitor at home, but if I'm out and about on my 720p netbook there is quite a bit of the screen that is constantly taken up by stuff that I don't use and doesn't go away. If you do the same thing in a google product like the photo section of + or picasaweb it minimizes the extraneous crap when you start scrolling down. Their other gmail/calendar/drive apps don't, but it kinda makes sense to me there because I am frequently navigating between them when sending files or information to people.

It kinda reminds me of ...the yahoo toolbar.

the original source of the article said "The China Experiment – Dumping Nikon for Sony" I would say that is a negative sentiment - I did dramatize it a bit sorry I got your panties in a bunch. not really.

And for someone as big as Trey Ratcliffe to post that kind of comment on Nikon's facebook page, that, is a slam, any way you dice it.

has anyone ever bought refurbished cameras from B&H? A friend of mine asked me for advice, based on his needs, I advised him to get the D5200 but it's out of his budget, so right now, it's either a new D3200 or a refurbished D5200 from B&H. I'm just curious. I've bought a used item from them a few times and had no problems, but they were used, not refurbished

Way to go Canon !!! I'm not surprised....

http://www.thephoblographer.com/2013...ome-to-the-us/

Quote:
Uh, what? Say that again? The new EF-M 11-22mm f4-5.6 won’t hit US markets? Apparently so, at least that’s what Canon Rumors reports, quoting a comment left by a moderator on the Canon USA forum. The comment answers a forum member who inquired why Canon USA didn’t officially announce the lens, and it reads:

“Thank you for your inquiry regarding the EF-M 11-22mm f/4-5.6 IS STM lens. We can certainly understand the confusion surrounding this release! Unfortunately, this specific lens will not be sold or serviced by Canon USA.”

Well, dear Canon USA, then what is your EOS M system all about? I mean, seriously. You’ve got one unexciting camera with an uninspired standard zoom and an a slightly more inspiring fast-ish semi-wide prime, and now you’re telling us that the first really interesting lens for the system isn’t coming to the US? You can’t be serious!

On second thought … mirrorless cameras do sell best in Japan, whereas the figures for the US are pretty bad, as we’ve recently shown. Though it does make a strange form of sense, somehow, as a US-American EOS M user I’d probably be pretty pissed right now … Because the worst part isn’t even that the lens is not being sold in the US, it’s that Canon USA won’t even service it. So even if you buy it from overseas, in case something goes wrong you’ll have to send it back to Hong Kong or wherever you bought it from. Congrats, Canon. You just made your first mirrorless system even more unattractive.

dude, your boy Kai on DigitalRev updated it with the latest firmware, and it didn't really make much difference. I know you might be tempted, but I would skip it. I see people selling them on Craigslist for pretty cheap too. If Canon doesn't drop this line, perhaps the next version would be improved.

was sweeter when it was down to $299 just a few weeks ago (with that same lens but no flash)

you can also buy it at B&H for $599 without the flash...
