I love how on the new flickr when you click the Share menu it kind of does whatever it feels like doing - sometimes it pops right up and above (as it used to and as you would expect it to) and other times it shifts the entire screen up and then pops up at the top of the screen

happen to anyone else?

I'm on Firefox, version 40 billion

+1 for Chrome.

When I click the share button, it brings up a small window right above the button.

camera info for last night's Stanley Cup game

http://newsblogs.chicagotribune.com/...hawk-eyes.html

Hawk eyes--3 photographers, 9 cameras, no waiting

(Chicago Tribune photo by Brian Cassella via remote camera)
Brian Cassella, Tribune photographer, gives us a glimpse behind the photo curtain with this passage about the first Blackhawks-Bruins Stanley Cup game:
Chris Sweda, John Kim and I were the Tribune photo team on last night Blackhawks' triple overtime epic in the first game of the Stanley Cup Final against the Boston Bruins. We had one ice-level photo position at the glass, one elevated spot and roving access for one of us to photograph fans. We'll rotate those position along with another team of photographers who will be in Boston as the series goes on.

Between the three of us, we had 9 cameras focused on the action and the atmosphere through 6 periods of play. Chris and I each had overhead remote cameras in the catwalk looking straight down at the goalie working in the crease. I also had one hanging with a wide-angle lens directly behind the goalie on the Zamboni door.

These camera locations have to be requested and approved by the NHL, so it's a treat to get them and be able to provide angles on the action from places we can't physically be during the game. This was also our first chance to install catwalk remotes in the United Center since the 2010 Stanley Cup Final so we wanted to take full advantage.

From my ice-level position last night, I fired three cameras at once on action around the net on my end of the ice. That gave me simultaneous views from where I was to the left of the net on the glass, directly behind the net, and overhead. The odds weren't in my favor to have the game-winning goal happen here, but they did capture several other goals and some graphic looks at the action.

John worked the fans throughout for pre-game video and in-game still photos. The crowd went from racing a thunderstorm, to thrilled to exhausted to elated again. He said he found the most energy and emotion in the 300 level where seats are just a little bit cheaper.

Chris made some great frames of Andrew Shaw's game-winning goal and the celebration, immediately filing them back to the office to make the final edition of the Tribune front page and Hawkeytown section. After nearly 11 full periods of hockey in the last two games, who knows what to expect in this series.

a "friend" on FB (the girl on the left) MSG'ed me one day and asked if I have any Chicago skyline photos because she wanted to get one printed to give to Hef at the mansion for his belated bday present. I say "friend" because I likely added her on a whim because she had a cute picture. I mean I'd never met her before. And then she just sees the Chicago photos I post on my FB so she knows the work I do. Anyways my initial reaction was, this is probably not legit, this is probably some weirdo - because I have had such experiences in the past. Unfortunately I have missed some great opportunities in the past because of this skeptical tendency of mine; so this time I decided to entertain it instead, and what do you know, she's legit and means business. It all happened quickly, I didn't actually have a photo that I would want to have delivered on such a high-profile mission, so I went out for the sole purpose of getting some photos, and decided on this one. Another part of the project was adding the letters HEF on the certain building which is right of center. She had approached the city to actually have that done with the lights, and they quoted her a minimum of $20k to have that done, for the minimum time duration. So then she wanted to know if I could photoshop that and again at first I'm like ehhh that seems like a lot of work etc. etc. but I fought myself and stuck with it, and went through and did it (and it wasn't so bad) - anyways so that's what happened, I delivered the photo to her on a Friday night, and she took it to the mansion the next evening. Hef loved the photo and according to her he immediately asked for it to be hung in his bedroom. Ok well that's the story.

This is Cool: Samsung Announces First Interchangeable Lens Camera with 3G/4G

Samsung just announced what looks to be a really great new ILC: The Galaxy NX, a camera enabled with 3G/4G capabilities. It’s not a phone, but a camera that can always be connected to the internet. I may have been hard on Samsung in a recent article on their Galaxy S4 Zoom, but this new product is one I can really get behind.
The new camera is equipped with a 20.3MP APS-C sensor which, if it is like the other Samsung cameras I have experienced, has been excellent and amazingly fast when it comes to auto focus. That’s thanks to an Advanced Hybrid Auto Focus (AF) System ensures accurate phase and contrast detection while also sporting a 1/6000 sec shutter speed and 8.6fps shooting

If you care about 3D, True 3D Creator also brings an added element of realism to the GALAXY NX results, allowing users to shoot images and movies in 3D with Samsung’s 45mm 2D/3D lens.As the camera runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean (on a 1.6 GHz Quad-core processor), the functionality of a smartphone is built in and utilized to improve the photographic experience. Users can choose from an entire universe of Android apps to help personalize their GALAXY NX and do more than just shoot amazing photographs and video, from editing images to adding special effects to sharing at a moment’s notice. This seems like finally a great application of photo quality and the plethora of mobile apps.

What do you think? Interested? I certainly am. I like the idea of a great camera (and Samsung keeps making better ones) with added mobile functionality. It’s better than a shoehorned Frankenstein of camera and phone, and mixes the benefits of both areas fantastically.
Below is an upcoming ad for the camera:

Author mis-uses "weather" in the first sentence and then in the comments someone is saying there are a bunch of photos that sold for 1 mil...

I find this suspect

Found a pretty cool app for android that predicts where the moon will be at any given time/date and shows you the trajectory through your phone camera and screen for planning a photo. Also has a beta of a sun trajectory and a sun shadow, water reflection of the moon, etc.

Unfortunately, I cant seem to get it to work on my particular phone (Droid RazrM). The developer is emailing me so maybe this might work, but thought I would toss it out there for anyone else to try and see if they can get it to work.

TPE looks awesome but the one I posted allows you to actually view the scene through your camera so you can see exactly where the moon will be relative to local landmarks, buildings, hills/mountains, etc. It provides it line of sight as you see it from the ground (or wherever you are).

Also, it's free.

It;s free so "woot!" but they need to host their downloads on faster servers! 3 hours to download 135MB? Whoa...
