yeah so they said no. the reason is because there will be too many people in the OR. (not because no photos, as I thought). there is a chance I can get some photos when the room has cleared a bit.
That remind me when I took one when my wife had our daughter some 14 yrs. ago. I borrowed a friends Nikon (film) camera. My wife also had a c-section, so I understand the restriction....not for the squeamish
I was able to get ready when they brought my daughter over to show my wife and was able to snap the shot right when she laid eyes on her. It's a beautiful photo that hangs in our bedroom, though my wife doesn't think it flatters her...at all!
I'm sure you'll be able to get some touching photos

I just made 25 prints today for an art show I'm in next weekend. It literally took me a full day to make that many prints, but now I've got to mat/mount them all. I got the mats pre-cut but I'm doing the mounting myself for the first time.
I hope they sell, otherwise I'm going to have every wall in the house covered. I've given my family fair warning that they all might be getting some prints for Christmas.

so a friend of mine said she wants me to take photos of her new baby, in the hospital, on delivery day. And I was like sure, no problem. What I didn't know is that she wants me to be in the surgery room, during delivery. so I'm like uh... sure! haha. might as well! could be interesting. I don't know if they'll let me in with a camera though? She claims she's a "cranky pregnant woman" and so she will get her way lol. She is quite assertive as it is. LOl
The show was pretty slow this weekend and it was definitely more of a craft show than an art show. I just didn't have the right customers for my stuff, but I still managed to sell 6 prints and pick up a couple contacts for future work.
I'm sticking to adjudicated gallery shows from now on because there was too much crap at this one. It was a lot of work for pretty marginal sales.

Very true!
There was a nature photog at this show selling prints at a very low price (like $60 for a 13x19) and he brought his camera with him to use as a prop. It was a 1Ds3 with a 600mm f4L on a Gitzo 5-series and full wimberley head. I think that's close to $20,000 worth of gear sitting there, so he'd need to sell a little over 300 prints to cover that purchase. I spoke with him at lunch yesterday and he said he sold a couple 8x10's and a bunch of post cards. I doubt he even covered the cost of his booth rental for the weekend...

so Calumet photo has this "no tax" sale today and tomorrow. I'm thinking, SWEET!! I need to get a BG-E7. So I check their site:

$270. I'm going ?????? I could have sworn it cost much less than that. Well yeah, it does. It costs $180 at Adorama, B&H, and Amazon. ROFL thanks a lot, Calumet lol.

so supposedly the $270 is the "as listed" price. if you click "Buy", it shows $179. no idea why they would do it that way.
and, these are backordered.
I was really hoping to have one for this weekend and a couple of shoots I have next week

Any pointers on panning car shots? I had the gist of it i thought but when taking pictures of cars on a track at high speed turns damn barely got them in focus or the right blurr and wheel motion I wanted.

Sometimes it doesn't come out well if the car is at a certain angle.
I posted a panning writeup in here, post #9. It may or may not help you, but I think its worth a look.
