I don't think David does HDRs, at least I've never seen him post any HDRs...

Friends 300zx. Could of probably done better lighting but was done with just ambient light.

Shot with 70-200mm 2.8.

Most of the time I do not. And this photo is not a HDR.

BUT...the wide shot of the rear of the car (with the entire car in frame) was taken using the D800's in camera HDR setting. It was a handheld shot which is why is slightly soft...didn't really do a whole lot in my opinion but I need to play with it more.

In my T4i I can't play much with the HDR settings either but I love how it lightens up dark areas.

I believe the built in HDR is most effective in areas with low light. Looks like the setting your car was in had a lot of full light. I took a lot of pictures in my house and saw the difference.

Nikon has a feature that has been in their cameras called "Active D Lighting" which helps bring out shadow detail.

I used to use it all the time in my D3, but in my readings it sounds like its not such a great thing for the D800, so I havent been using it.

The in camera HDR is OK...but you have to shoot .tif and I feel that the effects are very minimal. But I only used the 2 exposure mode...havent tried the multi.

I know I didn't mean to.

I never heard back from the organizer about getting you in without you having to buy a $75 ticket, which I took as a no. I did ask.

And honestly, I've been so sick, I've just been trying to stay afloat. Barely managed to finish photographing Saturday. Glad it rained out early, honestly.

I shot this last year in dec 12 on top of a 20 fl hotel. It was a rare opportunity.

As someone who lost a cousin on 9/11, I thank you for these! I was at the memorial ceremony yesterday and took some pics. Here are a few (no PP):

The third picture shows my cousin's name, Jayesh Shantilal Shah.

That panoramic is of course a stitch of two images. I couldn't shoot a true panoramic because I had to move a couple of steps from one pic to the next due to the other people viewing the bronze relief, and I couldn't fully capture the center wreath. Nonetheless, I can't believe how close the perspective angle is from one shot to the other considering that (well, the opposite angle).
