Beautiful.

Questions on your "twin Falls" pic you have in your Flicker account: What time of day did you take that pic? Didi you have to use a ND filter? What was your shutter speed?

Love that pic!

Thanks so much!

Wow I thought I didn't do so well on that waterfall pic. It was my first attempt at long exposure waterfall and it was really hard. It didn't turn out to be what I wanted because it wasn't misty enough.

I think it was about 10-11am that I took that pic. I did not use an ND filter. Exposure was 1.6 sec at f/32 at 85mm. Oh and it was shot in brackets (HDR)

I've recently looked into ND filters and will be getting them since they really give waterfall pictures the smooth flow of water.

I like the composition of the "twins fall". I ND filter will help, but you also might want to get a Graduated ND filter as well. The tops of those water falls are blown out. The ND filter will give you the "silk" look for the movement, but that top part will still be blow out, with just an ND filter.

I really like the first one you posted of the Park today.

I was going to use this on the "Industry" contest thread, but I forgot I had removed a lamp post, sign and power cable going through it so it would break the rules :/

How did you get the sky to come out so blue and full of detail, yet the foreground is also really detailed?? pictures look awesome.

Ahh alright.

Here's my recipe if it helps.

1. It was already a very beautiful blue day so that helped a lot (As you can see from my first picture of the lake)
2. I shot it in HDR
3. The sky was REALLY blown on the top right because the sun was just out of the picture
4. So I used Lightroom and reduced the Highlights down to -100 in order to see the clouds.
5. Then I adjusted the blue Saturation and Luminance to extract a bit more blue.
6. The shadows under the trees were very dark so I lightened it up by upping the Shadows slider.
7. I sharpened the whole picture using Photoshop (Unmask Sharp)
8. Then I use Nik Dfine to reduce noise because HDR processing and sharpening usually creates a little bit of noise.

Hope that helps!

Most of the time you can view the Exif data. If it's a flikr image the Exif data can be viewed in the upper right where the camera name is said to be used. Click on the camera name and more than enough info will be displayed.

Didn't know there was a plugin for that. What's the name of the plugin you're using.

BTW, I don't recall seeing any pictures from you. Do you have a public set?
