nabbed this shot just sitting at a light - SOOC aside from some color balance - it was cooler than I wanted -

why do you need to spend $1800 on a new camera? the one you have now takes awesome pictures already!

Great shots srika!

What's the camera setting for that last shot? I've never tried those shots before. Thanks!

nice pic Drigo, I wanted to get pics of the moon on my way home, but the cloud cover was too heavy. Of course when I was pulling up to a friends house with everyones dinner, the clouds had parted for the most part making for a dramatic view....and I just had to walk in and not set up

Maybe tonight will be better

Definitely not my favorite or best photo ever....but for some reason I liked this. Took it last night. Noticed during processing that my angle was slightly off, so I had to choose between either the lines of the wall or the floor being straight. I choose the wall. :/

Oh, and uh...I actually didn't see the no photography sign until a minute or so later...

How do you take a picture of the moon with such quality? I tried a few weeks ago and kept getting blurry shots, the camera didn't have enough light.

TIA!

did you have it on a tripod? that would help with the blurry shots...what were your settings? remember..you're taking a picture of a "big ball of light" so your shutter speed shouldn't be slow..
settings for my above pic were:
focal lenght- 170mm
shutter speed- 1/200
aperture- f/4
handheld

^^I thought I felt I felt a disturbance in the force today.

In all seriousness though, I actually look down on the new Al's from my office window. It's just a bit odd to come here and you posting pictures of what constitutes my daily life.

Yep, Al's, Old St. Pat's and its park across the street are all out my office Window.

BTW, the Blue Angels usually fly right over this area several times during the Air & Water Show week. I think they use it as part of the return leg on their flight path.

I guess this is what the mirror lock-up is for, eh. I had forgotten about that.

At the zoo in York, Maine

I know why the caged monkey howls

I was messing around with the iso settings, shutter speed and my zoom lens all day trying to get the hang of it. I got a d3000 a few weeks ago and I'm trying to learn on it!

the bird its self is perfect, the fence is pretty distracting though.

Next time try hopping over the fence to get the shot, as long as you have a professional looking camera they will usually let you get away with it.

yeah, on the fences.. see if you can minimize those next time, somehow. with certain lenses and settings you can shoot right up next to the fence and not see the fence much.
