The new shots @ TOV are pretty clear on what to expect....all we need now is the get up and go info....
wheel base again appears to be shorter than accord sedan...was hoping they would do as g35/37 coupe and carry same wheel base as the 4dr....note the exhaust cross overs are showing in rear shot...something TOY has been known for....hope they hide that...but still someting to look forward to in the fall

With those new pics from vtec.net, the front even with all the white tape, the front end looks like an evolution of the current Accord coupe. This 8th gen Accord coupe has the same hood cutout as the current one. Still definately not as exciting as the concept.

I'm just waiting to see again how the sedan looks like more. I hope it's not an evolution of the current Accord sedan though.

It's weird, normally the sedan is always shown first before the coupe version.

Current Accord coupe

It looks just like the concept, I don't get what your looking at.

And this isn't exactly being shown, their spy pics. I'm sure there are sedan mules running around as well. Just not captured on film.

How many car photographers live in Ohio to catch the Accord test mules? Most of them all are in Michigan (greater Detroit area) and for good reason (re: Big 3). But with how things are turning ... maybe more should be in Ohio (Honda) and Indiana (Toyota) ...

The shape of the front hood and the hood cutout is the same as the current Accord coupe as well as the roofline. There isn't much difference there, but there was a lot of difference between the 98-02 Accord coupe and the 03-07 one.

Yes, Kinda like the RL looking just like the RL concept except when we get out of concept world and start talking about what people want it didn't really work out, right? They look the same- the Production RL and Concept version looking practically the same, but what happened??

Same thing with the Accord, street version looks like the concept , but if its just an Accord coupe that looks like the concept it will sell no more than the last gen bland version. Why, cause its just a family coupe, not an enthusiast car like the crx, civic, prelude or s2000, just a family coupe with new looks- something that can't revive Hondas enthusiast community. The Accord has never been an enthusiast label.

Now for the Altima coupe, I can see something coming out of that just because of the breed it is obviously taking its every breath from...Whats that mean, its obviously a derivative of the lastest z and g. Whats the accord coupe a derivative of in comparison? The last gen lame accord?

See how Nissans marketing of excessive coupes has made its impact, what I said in the above paragraph some people may not agree with, but thats what they are pushing into buyers minds and it WORKS.

I want an Altima coupe already and think the idea of a 280hp Accord is rediculous considering thats just about as powerful as the company has in their most powerful car. Honda is a v6 company, 280hp on their family sedan without first making their luxury customers happy with higher power is not only stupid but sad.

I thought I was the only one who noticed that. I guess they're saving money on an area where most people won't notice by re-using the old.

I don't see any one mention this, but the side of the concept car is very well sculpted - in a style similar to the current 3 series. the production vehicle, however, has very flat side. I don't think it's due to the lighting on the concept either. See these live shots of the concept.

Of course, it is cheaper to machine a flat surface.

Im not sure what you mean by shape but I think you need to take a closer look... I have an Accord and its hood definitely doesnt resemble that concepts hood by any means... The hood of the current generation curves much much more at the nose of the hood and its definitely not that wide at the nose either.

There's very little machined on the surface of the car - all body panels are stamped and could be made just about any shape. You can only have so much of a departure from a flat surface. I think it's just the way it looks in pics.

The sculpting is actually there, it's just that 1) the production mules are white, it sort of dilutes the sculpting and 2) the concept has special paint and is under intense light to accentuate the sculpting.

These body panels are generally stamped, so it does not cost anything more other than more metal.

I just saw the concept at the headquarter's showroom. This thing is beautiful, hopefully the production model won't be too watered down.

OMG! That new Accord sedan is BEAUTIFUL! BMW 5 series, eat your heart out!!! LOL

The only thing is, it needs bigger wheels than the ones in the spy shots...

BTW, it was spotted in Ohio!? Why didn't I see it!? LOL

Do I like it ? It's too early to tell. The front reminds me of the Sonata while the side/rear-end reminds me of the BMW 5 series. I'll have to see it in person.

Any styling cues from this US Accord going to be in the next TL and TSX?

This new 8th gen Accord has more conservative styling like the 6th gen Accord sedan did, which I think is better than the ugly current 7th gen Accord sedan especially from the front.
