Please, now you are getting ridiculous.
Type-S has never been on par with M, AMG, S, or even F.
I'd assume at best 25-35 additional horses courtesy of a 3.7 motor?, suspension upgrades, wheels, trim pieces...."maybe" a six speed manual option....maybe.
...and that's pretty darn good IMHO.
Type-S never was, and never will be an M or AMG.
...and that's ok......so long as Acura delivers a Type-S that is more than just window dressing trim bits and wheels.....which I think they can/will do.
Turbo V6 is just not in the cards.

Never said said it was, never said it will be. But if you're satisfied with 25 more hp and a 6 speed you're not really aiming that high.

That presentation was underwhelming and pretty much killed any enthusiasm I had for the TLX. I mean it's not by any means a bad car, but it's clearly continuing the direction Acura has been going for the past several years with their cars which is just not for me.

Acura does not need a M or AMG competitor class to "aim high".
To "aim high" they just need to be on par with, and even beat some of the vehicles in their class.
As of now, they are not, but perhaps they will be in the future.
...offering a "sport" or "enthusiast" version of the car with more power and better sport oriented handling features and trim options is an excellent step forward.
...and yes, a 3.7 V6 with 25-35 more ponies and a 6 speed manual would be fantastic.

Well after the presentation, it appears what I have felt all along with this car appears to hold true: In it's production form for it's debut the TLX is a swing and a miss on many levels.
Here's hoping with new direction the MMC will be a significant departure from this version.

Did anyone else feel they needed to go out and get a prescription for Adderall to be able to watch that? Acura failed on so many levels with this car when they had opportunity to make it something good. They missed the mark on every single thing the guy was bragging about. This thing will blend in with 10 year old Camrys

So you can be a full fledged fanboy/share holder and still bust out the "haters gonna hate" bs in the threads but get your panties in a bunch when I point it out? Grow up.
I posted a t-shirt. It was a mild attempt of humor, hardly a 'panty bunching'.

In case you really want to look over the details of the production version (there are interior shots, BTW) - http://www.netcarshow.com/acura/2015-tlx/
ETA: I'll say this - it's orders of magnitude more attractive than the 4G. However, it's not what the brand needs...not by a long shot.

So in your opinion Acura needs to tread water until it can just slightly match up to or pass a few competitors. Yeah, that sounds like a great strategy to entice prospective buyers. "Hey, we're almost as good as these guys now, maybe slightly better! Buy our plain looking cars.

pics and tech details are online at HondaNews.com
MacPherson front suspension, was sorta expecting that. Front sub-frame could be aluminum like the 3G.
The multi-link rear suspension now has a single upper A arm with some lower radius rods and perhaps a trailing link.

This is a promotional shot?! Who chose coffee brown for the color of their promotional shots of (arguably) the most important new model at Acura in the last five years?! Way to say Accord-plus, Acura.

All in favor of hiring Sarlacc for Acura promotional photography?

Oh, cummon. It's not that bad. It may not be a homerun, but most cars aren't coming out of the gate.
Go back to the beginning of this thread and see how critical we were of the 3G, and look how popular it became.
I see a lot of potential for this model. Lets give it a little bit of time to grow into itself.

You clearly have no idea what you're trying argue. On par isn't good enough and slightly better isn't good enough.

Seriously, they NEED to hire a new wheel designer.

A-TSX Oldie
Overall I think the car looks good. Front end looks a little too much like the 3G, which isn't really a bad thing, but doesn't really excite either.
Proportions are miles better than the 4G, and from the pics, a 1 - 2" drop would do wonders for the profile -- likely what they did with the concept car.
Interior looks well done too. I'm one of those old geezers that like a little bit of wood in the interior, so I guess I'm their target demographic.
Difference between the Sport+ and Sport might be the lack of the gear shifter; electronics only and paddle shift for the Sport+.
What's worrisome for the center console is that it doesn't leave much room for a manual shifter to be located where the auto shifter is. And that open cup holder just screams low rent. What happened to even the basic cover on my old TSX?
